1 week after treatment, does PicoSure Fraxel for wrinkles cause blood broken vessels on face?

i did PicoSure fraxel on face last Friday. I have sensitive skin and some Red blood vessels in nose. today it's the 7 th day after PicoSure and my skin is still Red and i can see Red vessels on forehead and in cheeks .i would like to ask if PicoSure laser causes blood vessels?

Thank you for your question! Fraxel has 2 wavelengths in the 1550nm and 2940nm range.  They go a lot deeper than PicoSure and are better at correcting texture, but really don't help much for brown pigment or blood vessels.  This laser is also non-ablative, but you could have redness and swelling for 24-72 hours. The red blood vessels you now see may have been there all along, you might just be paying more attention now.  If you are still red and tender, you should consult your provider for after care instructions.  Also, ask them what treatment you actually had. Best of luck!

Thanks for your question.  I'm not sure what treatment you received a week ago.  PicoSure and Fraxel are the brand names of 2 different laser companies shooting at 2 different wavelengths & targets.  The PicoSure 755nm is excellent for treating brown pigment and smoothing out fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars an stretch marks.  It is color blind to any red blood vessels and would not have had any effect on them.  Patient that have had a PicoSure Flat or FOCUS lens treatment will only be red for 0-4 hours afterword.  The laser is non-ablative so there will not be any scabbing or giant flakes of skin shedding.Fraxel has 2 wavelengths in the 1550nm and 2940nm range.  They go a lot deeper than PicoSure and are better at correcting texture, but really don't help much for brown pigment or blood vessels.  This laser is also non-ablative, but you could have redness and swelling for 24-72 hours.The red blood vessels you now see may have been there all along, you might just be paying more attention now.  If you are still red and tender, you should consult your provider for after care instructions.  Also, ask them what treatment you actually had.  I hope this helps.

you are getting confused. The Picosure laser will NOT cause spider veins to appear. It is uncommon for it to cause any redness, beyond just for a few hours. The Picosure laser is a fantastic laser for evening out the color of the skin and also helping with fine lines etc etc. david berman md
