In my country, it's not uncommon for oral minoxidil to be prescribed to battle MPB. Daily dosages range from 1 to up 3-4mg. There are a lot of studies that discuss how Minoxidil can affect collagen production, especially when it comes to lysyl hydroxylase formation. Is lysyl hydroxylase a very important collagen precursor for skin health? Are these dosages significant enough to cause premature skin aging with the inhibitory effects of chronic oral (therefore, systemic) minoxidil administration?
