44. FPHL. Started Rogaine 5% women's foam November 2016. Never had an increase in shedding, in fact my shedding slowed down. In June this year shedding began to increase and is worse now again 200-250 + hairs a day whether or not I wash it. Do I need to stop Rogaine, has it quit working? No derm to talk to see about this.
Answer: Hair loss in women Try Dow Stough in Hot Springs since you are in Arkansas. He is an expert in hair loss. Finasteride often does not work in women and finasteride can cause birth defects. Andrew Messenger promotes oral minoxidil in women and feels oral minoxidil is far superior. Take 1.25 mg per day. Also consider WNT-act, which Antonella Tosti found to be effective in women as a topical. WNT-act up regulates or promotes the WNT pathway in cells and WNT is know to promote hair growth. You can get this on Amazon.

Answer: Has Rogaine stopped working? Your story is not typical of "Rogaine stopped working" but I would encourage you to review your entire story with a specialist. One needs to consider if 1) your FPHL has accelerated despite Rogaine or 2) If you have FPHL which was helped by Rogaine and now you have a second diagnosis for which Rogaine does not help or 3) you never had FPHL and the main diagnosis is now worsened (unlikely I would assume) or 4) your minoxidil is from a source that is not minoxidil of your past bottles. 1 and 2 are most likely of course but see a specialist
