Swelling starts subsiding around day 3. Icing, staying elevating when sleeping and eating a low sodium diet are some interventions to help with swelling. If this continues to be a concern you should follow up with your laser expert.
Hi,would love to see pics. Although this isn't the typical healing progression, some more aggressive treatments can result in redness 3 days out with no flaking/peeling. Have your provider take a look especially if your swelling is as bad as you describe it.
This is very normal to be swollen on day 3 post Halo laser treatment. Some patients have more swelling than others in general and also depending on the depth/percent of treatment done can determine the severity of swelling. Typically on day 3 you should start to feel a sandpaper texture and you may not notice peeling (like a snake) but rather dry looking skin that is flaky. Also, if you are moisturizing well you may not see much of the dry skin exfoliating. I would suggest calling the office you had the treatment done with and they may be able to give you something to help with swelling.Happy Healing-
HI, I assume this was on the face, if it was, this is too long for these issues to be occurring and I would recommend your provider to take a look. If it was on the neck or chest (off the face) the healing can be delayed, but typically not this long, but sometimes yes.
Thank you for your question. I am sorry you had a poor experience. Fortunately, time does resolve most hyperpigmentation from laser treatments. Halo would likely be too harsh for this area and for your skin complexion. I would go with a gentler, more repetitive approach like microdermabrasions...
Hi, I wouldn't recommend anything before your HALO except sunscreen and sun avoidance as well as hydration. Stop any retinoids a week before treatment, avoid any peels and dermabrasion for a month before to minimize any risks associated with laser treatment.
There is always a chance that any laser treatment can cause hyperpigmentation. Halo in my experience can be used on many skin types but settings need to be adjusted accordingly. We have had great experiences with treating melasma but the patient has to pretreat with hydroquinone or something...
Some patients have no swelling after their HALO and still have great results. Lack of swelling does not indicate less effective treatment. Degree of swelling varies between patients significantly.
Go back to the dermatologist who performed this procedure, the use of a mild steroid after facial swabs can reduce the irritation. Banal cream and emollients are recommended. Rashes following HALO are not normal, its usually due to an irritant or allergic contact dermatitis.Easily sorted. Dr ...
