Is the tattoo supposed to turn a whitish color during removal?

i had my first tattoo removal session, but i watched videos of what it's supposed to look like while getting it done. the tattoo turns a whitish color, but mine did not. is this normal?

Without seeing pictures or seeing you in person it is impossible to give you specific advice.  However a 2.5 x 1 inch tattoo over the rib cage is generally amenable to excision.  We also offer PICO laser for laser tattoo removal

Your ring tattoo can be removed by the PicoWay laser. It will take between five and 10 sessions to remove the tattoo. The cost varies by location and your dermatologist’s expertise.  A board-certified dermatologist who’s an expert in PicoWay will be able to help you.
