I have done some research and see a majority of questions from women about areola reduction in conjunction with other procedures, and undesirable results. Would a male be a better candidate given the fact that there is not as much weight and tension on the chest compared to a female?

Yes, most women have issues with the areolae stretching out due to the size of the breasts, with or without implants. In men the areolae can be made smaller and usually do well.

Both men and women are candidates for this procedure.  Tension definitely plays a role in how the scar heals.  Less tension often equates to less stretching and a more optimal result.  We also recommend using silicone based scar sheets and gels.  Scars can take up to a year to heal.
