Hello. I'm considering getting vaser lipo and I'd like to know whether it can be done in one procedure or more. The areas I want treated are by back, upper & lower abdomen, love handles, outer & inner thighs, and knees. My problem areas are not extreme but the fat there just doesn't budge. (I've been exercising and following a healthy diet for years. I'm 5'1'', I weigh 127 lbs and I'm 33 years old.) Thank you.
Answer: Lipo360 + abdominoplasty/tummy tuck - VASER HD, J Plasma/Renuvion/Inmode BodyTite, fat grafting for buttock lift/BBL how many areas can be done at once? many! its all based on your size wed ahve to see you to know what is possible. if you are smaller you likely can do more areas. add renuvion to get more tightening. my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring). the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after). You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring. Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty). Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear Surriko, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have liposuction of multiple areas in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others. Answer: How many areas can be treated The amount of liposuction done in a single session is up to each individual plastic surgeon but is generally primarily limited based on total volume of fat removed or potentially the total amount of numbing solution used during awake procedures. it’s more the total volume that’s an issue rather than the number of areas so it is very patient dependent. on someone who is 210 pounds I typically hit 5 L which is the maximum most plastic surgeons will remove in one session treating just the upper lower abdomen. On someone who is 140 pounds I can typically treat all the areas you’ve included and stay within the 5 L limit. Because I don’t use general anesthesia I have to rely on local anesthesia to keep my patients comfortable and there are safety limits for the amount of local anesthesia as well. under general anesthesia local anesthesia is not as important and this can be spread out as much as the surgeon wants. A lot is going be determined by the provider and what they feel comfortable with. Full body Liposuction is a bit much but some feel comfortable doing and some will split into two procedures. Some providers are also more aggressive in which case there’s more indication to split this into two procedures. You also need to find out if you’re a candidate for all those areas. For example inner thigh Liposuction rarely delivers results patients at hoped for and it’s really only those with reasonably good skin we should have it done because the results don’t look good if there’s any skin laxity at all. A lot of patience seeking full body Liposuction really just need to lose weight. Schedule multiple in person consultations with plastic surgeons in your area who have extensive experience with Liposuction. The brand of liposuction device is a relevant to the outcome but the experience of the surgeon is not. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: How many areas can be treated with vaser liposuction? Hi and welcome to our forum! There is a maximum "safe" amount of fat which can be removed in one procedure. Excessive liposuction can be responsible for metabolic disturbances, dehydration, and anemia. Each State has determined its definition of "safe". Here in Florida, 4000 cc of fat (approx. one gallon or about 6-7 pounds) is the maximum allowed as an outpatient procedure. You most likely don't have 4000 cc of excess fat! As you are at a healthy weight, trunk and thighs may be liposuctioned significantly as one procedure. Best wishes...
