Hello and thank you for your question. You should double check with your surgeon about when you can lay on your back. My own protocol is as follows: expect to be sore for 5-10 days, no heavy lifting for 2 weeks, and your bruising (if any) will resolve usually by 3 weeks. I like my patients to wear a pressure garment for 3 months. Some surgeons say you can't sit on your buttocks for 2 months, but I think there is no science to back up that recommendation, and I have my patients sitting within a few days and our fat grafts seem to do pretty well. Remember that each surgeon has their own protocol and please follow the instructions of your particular surgeon catered to your individual needs. Be sure to seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in advanced body contouring techniques. I hope this helps!Dr. Sean Kelishadi
I usually allow patients to lie on their back after about 2-3 weeks provided that they do not stay in one position too long. Best to ask your surgeon.
Typically four weeks after you can sit and lay on your buttocks however some patients prefer to extend this time a little moreto about 6-8 weeks so i would say you are in the right stageto be able to enjoy finally laying on your back .Good luck!

If you have significant swelling in one lower extremity and/or pain, then a DVT has to be ruled out. Best to be evaluated in person at an ER. You should also be able to communicate with you surgeon.
