You can try one filler and determine if the results match your expectations. If not, you can opt for a second syringe. Good luck 

Usually Doctor's start with one syringe to avoid over-filling. For the most improvement in this area, a combination approach is needed. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. Tear Troughs are a very difficult area to do. It is a very advanced technique that should be done by an experienced physician. You can do tear troughs with less than one vial becasue the filler attracts water in the skin. If you put in too much you can end up with some lumping and ridging that then needs to be removed due to over injection. This can actually make you look worse. It is reasonable to start with half a vial and build up from there if need be.

It is difficult to say how much you will actually need to fill this area.  Usually I would start with a half syringe on each side or less. a lot depends however on the patient's age, skin type and the amount of volume loss. Oftentimes I  fill this area in stages as you do not want to overfill the area or it will look lumpy.  there are several fillers that would work in this area. You are correct in letting your physician choose the filler that is most appropriate.

Thank you for your question.  It's difficult to make exact recommendations without assessing you in-person or reviewing your actual photos (a similar photo really doesn't help very much).  The amount of filler you need really depends on a variety of factors, including your specific facial anatomy and bone structure, the thickness of your skin, the extent of your volume loss, and your aesthetic goals.  I also find that many patients with prominent tear troughs often benefit from fillers in the cheeks as well - deep injections on the cheekbones actually help lift the whole cheek and the tear troughs, minimizing the amount of filler that needs to be injected directly under the eyes.  Just treating the under eyes in isolation often does not provide enough structure and support to create an ideal cosmetic result.  If you do need more than 1 syringe of filler (and many patients often do), I think starting conservatively with 1 syringe per treatment session is a great idea.  It's always much easier to add filler with time than it is to remove any unwanted product.The tear troughs and under eyes are among most complex areas to inject with filler, and require a great deal of expertise.  Filler injections here should really only be performed by experienced cosmetic dermatologists or plastic surgeons.  Best of luck!

used to restore lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. For my patients I recommend a soft filler such as Volbella or Restylane in the tear trough. Thicked fillers sometimes lead to too much puffiness which is not desirable in this area. For my patients I normally recommend starting with one syringe, which is a conservative amount and assessing the results 2 weeks later once the swelling has subsided. At that time more product may be added if further enhancement is desired. Please
