There is little to no improvement with ice this far out from a surgical procedure. It will not hurt the area, so if you feel better icing you can certainly do so. If you are having concerns post procedure it is always best contact your doctor to express concerns and possibly come in for a post op.
I can certainly understand your concern. I always suggest to my patients, if they have any concerns during their healing to call me and discuss those #concerns. I encourage you do the same to your doctor. Meanwhile, perhaps this may provide clarity on healing expectations.Though recovery from a surgical #neck lift varies from person to person, patients are generally presentable within three weeks from surgery. Generally, it will take approximately 7-10 days for the early healing in which many patients feel comfortable being in public at this stage. Most #bruising is low on the neck and may easily be covered by clothing. Also, wearing a #compression garment may be suggested the first week and then nightly for up to six weeks. Swelling is normal and will also continue to diminish.Local #massage of the areas may accelerate the resolution of this problem, which normally takes 2-4 months to disappear completely. The #incision scars from a neck lift can typically be hidden well and are not located within eye level to be immediately noticed. These #scars “mature” within six to twelve months from the surgery date. The term mature implies they will soften and fade away. During this time, the rejuvenating effects of the neck lift will become most obvious and the neck feels the most normal (ex. little discomfort, soft, normal sensation, no more post-op firmness). Following this stage, the true restorative effects of your neck lift result will be apparent.
Ice packs do not help swelling this far out of surgery. Radiofrequency treatments and lymphatic massage would help. See your physician if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.
I would say in most cases that an ice pack would not help much with swelling 2 weeks after a neck lift. It certainly would not hurt, but ice packs are most useful for the first few days after surgery.
Ice packs are most effective in reducing swelling for several days after a neck lift. Some patients do continue the packs longer because they do find it is soothing.
It is not uncommon to be experiencing some #lumps following a neck lift. Recovery from a neck and facelifts do vary per person and can take from 2-6 months for face, neck and cheeks. Muscle weakness may also be present around the mouth especially if liposuction is used. Some degree of firmness...

These bumps could be due to remnants of clots and blood from a hematoma. The straight line could be due to where a drain was removed. Alternatively this could be due to contour irregularities caused by damage to the skin where the surgeon might have quarterized operation to stop any bleeding. I...
