After effects of IPL treatment? Thinking the laser didn't work well enough or something.

I don't think you should be concerned because of a lack of side effects. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care post IPL. I usually recommend a combination of treatments with IPL for best results. I suggest adding microneedling/prp and skin care to improve skin quality and tone. Pigmentation can be improved with laser, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening and peels. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question jennphuong. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. Some times darks spots may get darker before they get lighter but this is not the case. Either way, this is normal. Most people resume their normal activities right away after a treatment. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

It sounds like your treatment was very conservative.  Not all IPL treatments are the same.  It may also be possible that a different laser technology like the PicoSure Laser may be more effective on your pigmented acne scars or a different IPL device or different settings than what you were treated with.  PIH from acne scars can be very difficult especially if you have dark skin.  See a dermatologist with extensive experience treating PIH to make sure you are getting the best treatment available.
