Hello, I have very thin hair and i tried alot of treatments but on my last visit to a derma doctor he told me that this is a genetic hair loss case and recommended minoxidil as a treatment. My question is, is there an alternative or another way to help in my case ? Im getting married soon and im worried about the fact that it affects in pregnancy and that i have to use the minoxidil spray forever . Thank you

I would like you to be aware of a few facts as they may guide yout discussions with your own doctor. First, there is only one FDA approved treatment for female androgenetic alopecia and that is minoxidil. Second, any treatment you decide you use for androgenetic alopecia is forever. Minoxidil is no different. Every single treatment is forever. Third, all treatments for genetic hair loss need to be stopped in pregnancy with the exception of some low level laser devices.
