I had alarplasty, rhinoplasty including osteotomy and currently at 8 weeks post op. There is asymmetry ever since the splint was taken off. Is this due to more swelling in the right nostrils than the left nostrils or should I plan for revision? When is the fastest I can get a revision?

Answer: Uneven nostrils after alarplasty Thank you for your question! It is rather difficult to fully evaluate your situation without an in-person exam. However, you should keep in mind that you're likely to have some post-op swelling at 8 weeks following surgery. This would explain why your nostrils appear uneven. It may take 6 to 9 months for swelling to resolve completely. Then you will be able to observe your final results. Give it some time before you consider revision. If you don't observe gradual improvement over the next few months, make sure to alert your plastic surgeon. An in-person exam with a board certified plastic surgeon is always the best way to fully assess your needs and address your concerns. Best of luck!
