What is a 7mm crease? (photos)

I got an eyelid surgery 2 weeks ago. After I got my stitches out, my surgeon noticed I had Ptosis and I had a Ptosis correction 5 days later. Imagine the fear being told I needed an adjustment 5 days later! My measurement was 7mm with my eyelids closed. Is this a medium crease? What is the mm crease height while open with a 7mm? What does a 7mm crease look like? Is it normal for Asians? My eyelids are so deep, thick, and HIGH. Will it go down? If you had Ptosis, can you have sausage eyes?

Although  7 mm is a normal measurement for the supratarsal fold height in an Asian woman, your height appears longer and it appears you may still have some ptosis. It is still early after your surgery but regular follow-up with your surgeon is in order. A second opinion may be in order if you still have concerns.

7 mm is within the normal range for crease height in Asians.  Just as important as the crease height is how much skin overhang there is over the crease in determining the final appearance.  This early in your recovery, you still have quite a bit of swelling which is elevating the height of your crease.  As this resolves over the 3-6 months (and up to a year) the height will descend.

The actual height of a crease in the Asian Eyelid varies widely.in the cases where there is no crease the one that you create for the patient depends on their anatomy and their goals.and your case since it's been six months since your post I imagine the swelling is much better and decreased did come down. In cases where the creases created more than five or 6 mm above the eyelash line the healing process can look through dramatic and in some cases alarming. It's not unusual for the two sides to look at the bit different from one anotherin the first few weeks and in some cases even the first month or two. At two weeks you are still healing from the procedure- especially since you had a secondary procedure early on. Allow the swelling to resolve before worrying about the exact measurement of the crease. It is too early for any additional refinements. The swelling in your eyelid will go down with time.
