If there a proper way to drink from a straw after you’ve healed get and heal from lip fillers to not get migration or negatively affect the filler? Are you supposed to sip from the side of your mouth or can you sip with the straw in the center like a normal person? Can anyone insert a video of how to properly drink with a straw after filler if you don’t want to mess anything up with thick filler? I drink coffee and wine a lot and definently don’t want to stain my teeth so I’d be using straws to avoid that so there has to be a way to use them and avoid messing up filler

This is a great question — and I’m glad you’re thinking about long-term results rather than just the first few days after filler.

The short answer is: once your lips are fully healed, there is no special or “correct” way to drink from a straw, and using one will not cause filler migration.

Here’s why:

After lip filler is placed, the product integrates into the surrounding tissue over the following weeks. Once healing is complete (typically 2–4 weeks), the filler is stable. Everyday movements like sipping, talking, smiling, kissing, or drinking through a straw do not displace well-placed filler — even thicker fillers.

You do not need to:

Sip from the side of your mouth

Avoid placing the straw in the center

Modify how you drink coffee, wine, or anything else

Using a straw normally will not push filler out of place or negatively affect your results.

A few important clarifications:

Filler migration is usually related to overfilling, improper placement, product choice, or repeated injections in the same area — not normal mouth movements.

During the first 48–72 hours, it’s reasonable to minimize exaggerated lip movements simply to reduce swelling and tenderness, but this is temporary.

After healing, your lips are meant to function normally.

So yes — you can absolutely keep using straws to protect your teeth from staining. Drink normally, center of the mouth included. No special technique or instructional video is needed.

If filler were that fragile, everyday life would be impossible — and that simply isn’t the case when it’s done correctly.
