I was wondering how long does it take to get the actual surgery after the first consultation??

HelloThanks for the question. The time will depend on many factors, you should not go to surgery very quick, before go to surgery you must have a general checkup, laboratories and imaging examinations. Surgery should always be carried out and when all parameters examined are controlled adequately and also associated diseases are controlled. The approximate time from a fist appointment until the surgery is about  1-4 weeksBlessings Dr. Pablo

Waiting time depends on many factors.  If you are going through insurance, they may require a 6-12 month period of supervised diet and exercise.  If you meet all the requirements, it may take a few weeks to a month to get authorization from the insurance company.  And then some surgeons make you go through various (often unnecessary) tests such as sleep study, endoscopy, cardiac evaluation and psychological evaluation.If you are paying out of pocket, there is no waiting period.  Call your surgeon and ask.
