Petechial Rash on belly and neck 4 days post surgery. (photo)

Question

I took 1/2 of my regular norco prescription (10/325) last night to help get to sleep. It was the only pain med I took all day. Shortly after, I noticed a pin prick type rash on my belly. This morning it's on my neck. It doesn't itch. Could this be a side effect of the norco? Or something that just happens after surgery? This is the first time I've ever had major surgery.

Thanks for the picture. This most likely represents a medication allergy. I would contact your plastic surgeon and get his or her recommendation but my recommendation would be to discontinue the medication until you talk to your surgeon. Good luck.

The postoperative skin rashes usually the product of a reaction to adhesive, reaction to her narcotic, or allergy to the antibiotic.

Sounds like you have a drug allergy.  It can be the Norco or antibiotic.  Call your plastic surgeon for a change in your medication.
