And also do I have to take precautions like not getting into sea water or something like that? I'm planning to have a hair transplant, want to know if there is any maintenance required after hair transplant and after hair transplant can I stay care free or do I need to take any precautions? Like not applying any hair product or something like that?

Because hair transplants are not a cure for hair loss, rather a treatment, it is beneficial to utilize medical management (such as hair loss medications) in order to prevent continued progression of hair loss. As you age, your hair loss will further. Incorporating medical management into your routine can help you extend the time you keep your natural hair and extend the time until you may need another hair transplant to compensate for the hair loss. There are many methods of medical management such as medication, topical solutions, shampoos, laser therapy, and PRP therapy. When you meet with an experienced hair restoration surgeon you can both decide which option(s) will be best for you. As far as post-hair transplant care goes, after the hair is completely healed, it is your natural hair to do with as you please. Make sure to do your research prior to picking a hair transplant surgeon. You want someone educated and experienced with proven results.

Hair loss is a progressive process so if your hair loss progresses after a hair transplant, you might want to see if it needs more transplants; however, the hair transplants themselves stays without medication support and it is relatively maintenance free.

As we age, unfortunately, you may lose more hair and may want further hair transplants. The microhair grafts that are transplanted respond as they would from area removed. So, if we take the hair from back of the head which usually is the last place the person loses hair, it should stay at the transplanted area the longest. It does though change color(grey) like other area would. I am using the new exciting FUE system where I don't take strips of hair.
