I had a Picosure LSR treatment two days ago and yesterday I started breaking out on my forehead and cheek. Now many small pustules have formed and these areas are swollen, hot, red and itchy. Is this folliculitis or is it to be expected after treatment? I don't normally suffer from acne. I did have a similar reaction several years ago to an eyebrow wax. Im currently taking flucloxacillin & applying a hydrocortisone ointment.

Answer: This is how your skin reacted to the laser and it may be compared to blistering.
Both picosure and revlite are pigment lasers
Picosure is a picosecond laser of the 755nm wavelengthrevlite is a nanosecond laser of the 1064nm wavelengthboth are manufactured by cynosure, USA
based on pulse duration and wavelength, most laser providers would recommend the PicoSure.
The laser does not penetrate deeper than the dermis of your skin and the fragmented ink is digested by macrophages of the immune system. You and your baby should both be ok. Anyways, do not continue with any laser removal treatments until you deliver your baby. Congratulations and good luck!
This is normal occurrence and it may take one to two weeks for your spots to completely heal. The healing process that is happening is influencing the pigment to turn darker at the surface of the skin. Good luck!
