Some doctors do VI Peel every two weeks, is that safe?

I have heavily sun damaged skin that is very rough and coarse with a thick layer of dead skin that builds up quickly as well as highly oily skin with a few enlarged oil glands. I used to get Jessner peel every two weeks and that gave me amazing results but would a base VI Peel every 2 weeks be too much? I was thinking every 3 weeks so as to get a slightly more though peel from these? I have had theme very 4 weeks but would every 3 weeks be too close?

Hi when skin is very oily, congested and pigment and large pores are a problem then trying a VI peel every two weeks could be helpful. Try one every two weeks and access at the end of the month. If its too much then back off to every 3 or 4 weeks and access again. VI peels are very effective for the skin you have. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. How often Vi Peels can be done depends on the person's skin type. Everyone's skin is different, and some patients can tolerate Vi Peels every 2 weeks and some only every 4 weeks. After the first Vi Peel, monitor and evaluate how long your skin takes to heal and for the peeling to resolve, then the frequency of peels can be easier to determine. I highly recommend you consult with a licensed practitioner or board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss further treatment with chemical peels.
