Will using a tens unit in massage mode increase results and help destroy remaining fat cells?

I just had a SculpSure treatment. I have a tens unit. Will that help destroy remaking fat cells? Do you recommend  using to massage the treated areas?

It is important to massage the area for several weeks after a SculpSure treatment but I am not aware of any studies that have shown a tens unit to be helpful in improving results.

SculpSure destroys fat cells by heating them to around 41°C using a laser that resonates with the fat droplet. The adipocyte (fat cell) is damaged by the heat and undergoes programmed cell death (apoptosis) over the next ~6 weeks. Although not studied, I doubt very much that a Tens unit would aid in this process.

A TENS unit will not destroy any more fat than SculpSure alone given how is works. It also will not interfere with your results. Massaging the area after the procedure is important to getting the results you want and is encouraged. A full body massage may help you get quicker results as it improves the function of you lymphatic system and will help process those fat cells.

Tens unit? This device is for muscle contractions and has nothing to do with the fat above the muscle. It will not help but it will also do no harm. I have one that I use occasionally and I am sure it would not affect the fat from SculpSure.

TENS units do not destroy fat cells, however it “is” important to massage your body where you had the Sculpsure applied in order to help your lymph system remove the destroyed fat cells.

Massage with a TENS unit will not destroy fat, but it might help your body to clear the fat cells killed by the SculpSure laser treatment. It will certainly do no harm to your outcome. Often patients require more than just one treatment of SculpSure to achieve their goals. Best wishes.
