Am I a good candidate for breast reduction by liposuction for symmetry? (photos)

Question

I’m 23 yo non smoker. My left breast has always been larger than my right breast. I’d like to reduce some of the fat from left breast and do so in a minimally invasive way. I don’t care so much about droopiness. I’d just like the breasts to be symmetric.

No, you are not a good candidate since you skin is already stretched and hanging.  Your breasts will look even more deflated.  Most women do not want invasive surgery because of the vertical scars associated with the traditional techniques.  For that reason, a new alternative was developed called The Bellesoma Method.  This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Based upon your pictures, I would not recommend liposuction.  You already have a lot of loose skin, so I think your best option is a surgical breast lift/reduction to improve the shape and youthfulness of both breasts.  Size correction is easy to do at the same time.  A number of techniques are available for this; please seek consultation with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon.

A breast reduction performed by liposuction can reduce the size of the breast a moderate amount depending upon the amount of fat, but the procedure will not lift the breasts.  If you want a substantial reduction or desire a lift as well, then the excisional procedures should be performed.  Liposuction will not improve the skin.  If there is any level of droop, breast reduction by the conventional surgical methods is best. Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Based on the photos- you appear to be a candidate for a reduction/on larger side and mastopexy. This will correct your asymmetry, reshape your breasts and make them perky and more youthful. There're no "minimally invasive" treatments that would provide an adequate treatment in this case. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS for in person exam

Dear coolgirl1994,Women’s breasts have some degree of asymmetry. Some may be more noticeable than others. If you have breast asymmetry before breast augmentation surgery, there is a great chance that this will exhibit right after the surgery.If the asymmetry becomes more noticeable after breast augmentation surgery, a revision may be needed to correct the asymmetry. In most cases, the revision involves correction in both breasts. For example, large breasts can be reduced to a more manageable size, but the amount of reduction might differ between each breast if one happens to be naturally larger than the other. The same can be said if a person wants to augment their small breasts to a larger size: one might be augmented more than the other.You should discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. If you want to minimize your surgery, and are happy with your smaller breast, then it would be wise to have surgery on the larger breast to reduce its size and remove some extra skin as well to make it match.  As you will need skin removed as well, liposuction alone is not a good choice; you will still be uneven.  A left sided lift/slight reduction will make you even and  I would encourage you to seek a consultation.

Excellent thought, but unfortunately it wouldn't work. Liposuction will only address the breast tissue and not the skin, which is already sagging. It will exaggerate the sag even further. In addition, breast tissue does not liposuction as well as fat and the amount of reduction achieved will be minimal. 
As both breasts are sagging, I would recommend a lift on the smaller breast (with possible augmentation as well) and a breast reduction/ lift on the larger breast.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.

Thank you for the question.  No based on your photographs, I do not think that you will do well with  liposuction surgery alone.
Very few patients who present with breast hypertrophy are good candidates for breast reduction through liposuction surgery, in my opinion. Liposuction surgery will  remove adipose tissue but does not address the excess breast parenchymal tissue and/or ptotic skin that is present. Therefore, the degree of breast reduction possible through liposuction surgery alone is relatively small.  
Skin elasticity is another factor that needs to be taken into consideration;  most patients with large breasts have  loss some skin elasticity…
