I have what looks like a small epigastric hernia but, the doctor told be is was Diastasis Recti (through the finger test and lying down test) and that repair was more complicated than a simple hernia. There is no abdominal distention only a small protrusion . I think he is just trying to avoid insurance covering it.

Hi there. Diastasis recti will not heal by itself. Unfortunately no amount of working out will fix the issue. It would require surgery to repair those muscles. Best of luck to you!
