Yes, you can safely fly with an Orbera balloon. Altitude does not affect the balloon. We have had many patients travel throughout the country, and internationally, with Orbera balloons. I do caution my patients that in the event of a balloon emergency, they would need to seek medical care at a facility that is familiar with Orbera, though this would be a very rare circumstance. As long as you have adjusted to the balloon after placement, it is safe to travel.
