Speaking about graft numbers; 1. You need to know the hair number more than the graft number as the coverage is provided by hairs not grafts. For instance, 2750 grafts with an average of 1 hair each gives you only 2750 hairs and this number would only be sufficient to give good coverage in an area about 25-30 square cm as atleast 100 hairs per square cm are needed for good density. On the other hand, 2750 grafts with 3 hairs each would make 8250 hairs and this would be good for an area that is 80 square cm. 2. You need to know the area of the transplanted recipient area to be able to calculate how many hairs each square cm received. 3. You need to know the survival rate of these grafts, which is not possible until you wait a full 12 months post surgery. As you can see, by only looking at graft numbers, we can not tell what the density is going to be.
