1064 Laser Treatment for Venous Lake - recovery Period? (photo)

Question

I found a well known reputable doctor in Washington DC at the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery to treat my small venous lake. Based on 3 failed VBeam treatments from another doctor, she felt the 1064 was the best option. My lip looks horrible. The venous lake is huge and dark. It looks like its bubbling or bulging out and it's extremely dark. I'm on day 2 of my recovery. Is this going to look better? I wish I never did this.

I am in complete agreement with Dr. Pozner.  In my experience, venous lakes respond very well to treatment with the Nd:Yag.  Your photo demonstrates a fairly typical response.  By the end of the first week, you will notice a significant decrease in the puffiness.  Generally, I will evaluate the for partial of complete clearance of the venous lake four weeks after the initial treatment.

The healing in the photo you posted is very normal for the venous lake treatment with the 1064nm laser. You should have a great result but takes a while to heal.
