Question

It's been 1yr since endoscopic brow lift I have issues bad scarring you can see where surgery was no discretion. What happened my forehead looks disfigured i can't put hair back or up. What can be done. This was a reputable Doctor.. Thank you

Hello @BB2020, thank you for your question. The healing process that results in scars depends largely on factors other than the treating physician. Healing care and the genetics of the skin of each patient are some of the key factors in a patient's healing scars.It may be possible to improve scarring through high-tech non-surgical treatments, Fixer may be one of them. So sorry that you are experiencing this. Despite all the marketing hype that surrounds relatively expensive "bells and whistles" devices, like fraxel lasers and RF devices, the hard science to support their use lags woefully behind the hype. So, you might wish to consider for your problem more proven (and also a less expensive technique) that have racked up more than a two decades long track record for efficacy and safety: professionally performed microneedling (no need for the expense of the RF) accompanied by the application of prescription strength pigment enhancers, such as topical topical tyrosine and lanatoprost. Just make sure that you consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and not just any venue hawking the latest "next big thing" device that it has just purchased. It is less common to experience incisional scarring using the endoscopic approach (the reason so many surgeons use this approach). I actually prefer the subcutaneous browlift approach so I will use a CO2 laser to go over the incision following the surgery to diminish the incision line. The CO2 laser does a nice job of dispersing the hypopigmented nature of these incisions. Sometimes I will perform the CO2 more than one treatment.
