My daughter is 15 years old and we decided to do Aviclear in October in doctor Nissan Pilest office. My daughter struggles with acne around 4 years but it never been severe. I am against antibiotics and Accutane so she doesn’t have many options. After first treatment she purged bad but I was promised that after second treatment she will be better. One month apart she had second. On this point i noticed that her acne looks more inflamed and doctor suggested to start using topical antibiotic. We were again promised that after third treatment she will see improvement. After 3 last treatment she was worst then ever. Doctor said wait . We were waiting. Now 2 months after 3 treatment from mild acne she has severe. I don’t want to blame doctor, he tried to be helpful but he sell something that he doesn’t know enough. I beat myself every day that I cause my daughter such pain( treatment were extremely painful for her) ,her self esteem drop to extreme 0 , she looks down and hide her face. We had a follow up 1 week ago and doctor claims that he never seen someone like this and we need to see endocrinologist due to her severity . But her severity was cause from this laser! I don’t know how to help my daughter now. I blame myself every day to be so naive to believe. In USA everything is only for money. Nobody really is interested to help you. I am so disappointed. I don’t believe that there is real doctors anymore…. I think this laser is not studied enough and doesn’t work for everyone. Also is very painful for teenagers. If someone has experience with this treatment please share. I am not posting her pictures because she doesn’t allow me to do this
When I decided to try the Thermiva procedure I set out to read as much information on it as possible and as many reviews from others that already had it done. It was disappointing that a lot of people will leave an initial review but never come back and update us on how the final result was or if it actually helped them fix their issues. So I’m going to leave the best review as possible and make sure I come back after every treatment and let you know how it’s working for me or not. Please know this is my experience and everyone will have their own, so do your own research, read as many reviews as possible and check the reviews on the doctor’s office/spa you decide to use for your procedure. Here we go…. A little about myself, I’m 47, and have given birth to 5 daughters. My main reason for wanting this procedure is for laxity issues and the past year I started to notice that I’m starting to have stress incontinence issues when I jump around and exercise. Also I would like to feel more friction when being intimate with my husband. I don’t have any issues with painful sex, or dryness. Moisture has never been an issue. After searching many places and reading reviews I decided to choose Total Dermatology in Irvine, Ca. I knew what I wanted so when I booked my appointment I also booked to have the procedure done the same day. Please note that you will have to give them a $100 consultation fee to book the appointment, it’s used towards the procedure. So first impression of the office, very nice and elegant, staff is also very nice. I had my consultation with a staff member and I can’t for the life of me remember her name but she was very nice and very informative of the procedure. The actual doctor did pop in and introduce himself to me during my consultation for a quick minute or two and gave me a super fast breakdown of the Thermiva procedure. I was like a meet and greet when you go to meet a movie star…Lol I already knew my procedure was going to be done by an RN and I was cool with that. Her name was Liz and she was super cool, talkative and made you feel very comfortable during the procedure. She listened to my concerns and issues I was having and focused the procedure around that information. This procedure was completely painless!!! I didn’t feel any pain or burning at all. You can feel the warmth but its warm not hot. It feels like a warm massage on the inside and outside, you kind of have to use your imagination on this part it is a little difficult to explain but overall it was comfortable and the wand is moved around so it doesn’t remain in the same place for long. I also did feel a pressure sensation towards the end when the procedure was being performed internally. I had my procedure done on a Thursday afternoon. Everything was great and the very next day I started my period, not sure if this was a coincidence or did the procedure trigger me to start. I only mention this because I’m pre-menopausal and my period is very irregular. This was one of the worse periods I have ever had. The cramping was intense and super bad, the bleeding was super heavy with clots (sorry if that is graphic) I felt at times like my insides were going to fall out if I moved wrong. It lasted five days, three of which were super bad. I continued to have mild cramping after that for a couple of days and also light brown discharge that lasted three or four more days. Again I have never had a period in my life like this so I felt it was important to mention it and when I go back for my second procedure I will mention this to Liz as well. She did tell me sometimes the wand might tap the cervix and cause spotting, so who knows… So a week after the procedure and after the heavy period I was able to be intimate with my husband for the first time and honestly I couldn’t tell a difference but he said that he could tell a small difference. I know he wouldn’t lie cause he’s the one to tell you like it is if it hurts your feelings or not. Also I forgot to mention that I didn’t notice any difference at all with the exterior look either. That same day I also decided to workout for the first time and although I know I was holding my bladder at times when I started to jump, I didn’t leak at all!!! When I jumped in my previous workouts I would just start to leak out. So during the rest of the workout I stopped focusing on it and just let it be to see what happened and even though I felt the urge to go I didn’t leak. Going back for my second treatment at the end of the month and I promise I will come back and keep you updated. Feel free to ask any questions, I will try and answer them the best I can. Updated on 19 Jun 2019: So I had my second treatment with Liz and this time I had no period right after which I was so happy about. I did mention this to Liz at my second treatment and she did say this could happen. Anyway Liz said after this 2nd treatment 75% of her clients noticed the most difference usually around the time they are set to come back for the 3rd treatment. It's been a little over a week and so far I've noticed a difference in the tightening and also the outside appearance, my outer lips look smaller compared to what they use to look like. My husband also said he can tell the difference. I have no leaking at all while working out; I still feel the urge but absolutely no leaking. I'm happy with my results so far and will come back and update again after the third treatment. There was no pain or discomfort at all. Liz was awesome as always and makes you feel very comfortable and my session went by so fast because talking to her is like talking with a friend.
My experience with Dr.Pileest was amazing. The staff is amazing and so kind, love all the girls. They make you feel so comfortable. I came to Dr. Pilest on March 31, 2017, I had sever cystic acne around my jawline. Very painful. Once he saw me and took the time to explain all the different treatments that can help, he highly suggested The photo dynamic skin therapy (PDT). He recommended 3 sessions. The treatment itself is painful, lasts about 15-20 minutes each session. The girls were so kind to stay and hold my hand while the laser was on. (Thank you) I got treated every two weeks. The process was very dramatic in a way that my skin was purging the bad. When I would worry, I would call the office and let them know how I was feeling or what was happening and they took the time to explain what was going on. After my last treatment I had a follow up and I was healing correctly. Everything as planned. A year later I am acne free! & I am so happy to have made the choice to trust Dr. Pillest. He really knows what’s best and what he’s doing! Thank you so much. We are now treating my acne scars (minimal) with 3 sessions of micro needling, and TCA injections. I will post about this once I am done with these treatments. Thank you so much to everyone at Total Dermatology.
I went to Total Dermatology in Irvine to do Cosmelan peel. I left it on for about 10 hours the doc said 8 but I lost track of time! Face sun burned red, feels dry, tight and hot! I applied Hydra K and going to bed. I will follow the Cosmelan 2 on Day 2 Dr. Pilest said to apply two to three times but if my face was to sensitive or red just apply once a day. I will post tomorrow how I look and feel following Cosmelan 1 mask. Updated on 11 Nov 2013: Ok well post removing Cosmelan 1 Day 1 - I was really red, like a tomato! Skin was tight and dry. I refrained from applying Cosmelan 2 just yet because my face was on fire! Day 2 - I started some slight peeling around the mouth and chin area not too much anywhere else. I did then apply Cosmelan 2 only on the spots but only twice a day instead of three. Day 3 - I did start peeling everywhere! Skin was now pinkish/redish not as much as Day 1 or Day 2. Skin started peeling from cheeks, nose, temples, forehead. I applied Cosmelan 2 only on the areas I had melasma. Skin was still tight and dry. Day 4 - I was pinkish but with more peeling still couldn't go out in public. Continued to apply Cosmelan 2 on areas of melasma but twice a day. Day 5 - I was still pinkish had very minimal peeling and now applied Cosmelan 2 three times a day. Towards the evening of Day 5 the peeling was about 95% gone I was able to apply make up and go out with some friends. I was still slightly pink look like I had blush on but skin looked refreshed! Day 6 - I was as good as new! I am applying Cosmelan 2 three times a day makes you look a little flushed but it's only been 6 days. Friends and boyfriend asked if it was worth the downtime and money? ABSOLUTELY IT WAS! Would I recommend anyone battling melasma? Yes I would definitely recommend it anyone battling melasma. Would I do it again? Yes as many times it would allow me too! Updated on 24 Feb 2014: Well its been four months since I did the Cosmelan regular and back to the same. I saw results for the first month and two months later went back to how it was :( I'm actually on hq8% and not responding to that either.
I had my first zeltiq treatment yesterday. The doctor told me it would be better if I used a large applicator on my right and left sides of my lower abdomen. i did as he asked but now I am worried that my upper abdomen will look huge?? I am hoping it will all balance out. The first 8-10 minutes were very uncomfortable and then I went numb. Now my belly is very sensitive and still a bit numb as I can't feel much unless I bump my belly and then it actually hurts. I do have some bruising as well. I am so hoping this will work for me. I was told I can expect to lose 25% in both my right and left sides of my tummy :) I have 3 children and I am in fairly good shape with a belly that refuses to go away with exercise. Updated on 21 Feb 2012: Its now been 5 days since my Zeltiq procedure. My tummy is still numb and its driving me crazy. I have no feeling on my lower abdomen and my tummy is twice as big as it was before the treatment. Has anyone else gone through this? I am hoping it goes away soon. Its even painful at times. I also have a lot of bruising. Updated on 2 Apr 2012: It's now been a few months since my procudure and all I can say is "wow" My tummy has not been this flat in years. I will need one more treatment on upper and lower abs for final results but I already feel I got my money's worth!! Updated on 5 Sep 2014: I had liposuction because Zeltiq/cool sculpting did not work for me. Happy with my lipo results.
