Slim face, defined jawline

I usually don’t write reviews unless I’m dissatisfied with a service. However, I feel the need to share my experience with Dr Sterry. I had the triple play at his office and I can tell you I’m extremely happy with results. Dr Sterry and his staff were great. The whole process was very smooth and easy, from the first consultation, to the post surgery appointment. Alex who works with payme...

Very good experience with Dr. Sterry - Smart Lipo on abdomen & flanks

I had Smartlipo on my abdomen and flanks with Dr. Sterry a little over three weeks ago. Although it takes months to see the true final result, I have a sense of where things are headed and I'm pleased. I chose Dr. Sterry because, based on our conversation during the consultation, I felt confident he understood what I wanted and we were envisioning pretty much the same thing, which he executed...

Consultation review: Scheduled for surgery in June

I was so nervous to go in for my consultation. Dr. Sterry and his staff (Shivanie and Alex) are amazing. Dr. Sterry was very detailed in the consultation. Once I left the office, my husband and I were discussing the consultation and were left with more questions. I reached out to the staff and we set up another consultation (Virtual). During my initial in person consultation we agreed on neck,...

Chin liposuction - better and younger

Dr. Sterry and the team were great. Yes it's costly but I’m not bargain shopping for facial surgery. I want the best. People are shocked when I show before and after pictures. No one could pinpoint why but just that I looked better and younger. Best 7200$ I have spent.

Top Dr. for Tummy Tuck and Revision Cases!!

I had my first tummy tuck in Nov 2020 by a Dr. in Westchester, NY. He left me with a long vertical scar (in addition to the normal horizontal scar), an odd looking diamond shape belly button and a protruding belly. My stomach was in worse condition after that tummy tuck than before. I agonized with my ugly, scarred up, protruding belly for almost 2 years. Finally, I set up some consults with...

Q: Are chin lipo and submentoplasty the same procedure?
Answered by Dr. SterryJanuary 7, 2021

A: Many times, superficial liposuction of the chin or neck region can yield a very nice outcome with an improved jawline and profile. However, it's not a fix all. If the anatomy is such that there is fat deep to the muscles of the neck, it can't be suctioned, but it can be removed. Typically a 3 cm incision is made in or near the chin crease. The neck muscles are divided, and the deep fat is removed under direct vision of the surgeon. The muscle is then repaired, or sometimes tightened, and the skin wound is closed. There are many techniques, and this is just one of them. Plastic surgeons perform these maneuvers all the time during facelifts, but we certainly can use them for patients whose anatomy does not allow for an improved profile with liposuction alone. Good Luck!

Q: Is Abdominal etching possible with the amount of body fat I have? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. SterryOctober 28, 2019

A: First, yes you are a very good candidate.

Second, we all have our own bag of tricks - some use Vaser, some J-Plasma, some Smartlipo - but the result of your etching is truly in the hands of the surgeon - NOT THE TECHNOLOGY!

Please be careful about who is marketing and who is giving you real answers.  You should get a nice result if you go to someone who does good work.

Good Luck!

Q: Belkyra/Kybella Treatment - Permanent Damage? How can I look how I did before? (photos)
Answered by Dr. SterryAugust 22, 2019

A: We were all so excited to get Kybella a few years ago.  Now I have a drawer full of it that I won't use on any patients because I'm afraid it will ruin my reputation.  Sorry for your experience.

I have performed chin liposuction on many patients who were disappointed with their Kybella injections (performed elsewhere).  I think it's your best chance for a nice outcome.  In my hands, I like to use laser energy (Smartlipo) to help break down some of the scar tissue that the Kybella creates.  I find it makes the liposuction more efficient.

Good Luck!

Q: Is cheek liposuction dangerous???
Answered by Dr. SterryJuly 19, 2019

A: I perform Cheek Liposuction in my Manhattan office several times each week and find it to be quite safe and very effective.  In fact, I use it because of my frustration with the subtle outcomes I've gotten using buccal fat removal alone.  For my patients with truly chubby cheeks I sometimes do both procedures.  Combined with chin and neck liposuction, we can create a very elegant facial structure.  I invite you to check out my blog (attached).

Good Luck!

Q: My lower lip isn’t the same after chin and jaw lipo, help! - is this or can it be permanent?
Answered by Dr. SterryMay 9, 2019

A: This lower lip problem may be due to an injury to the marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve, BUT these types of problems are almost always temporary when caused by liposuction.  Give it some time and I have some confidence there will be a full recovery - within 6 weeks.  The injury is sometimes described as a "bruise on the nerve".  It is likely to take some time, but I trust you will be fine.  I would LOVE to see a follow up report in a month or so.

Hang in there!
