Excellence! Lower facelift & neck lift took 20 years off me

THE BEST EVER!! Not only the best place I have been to for a cosmetic procedure but literally the best treatment I have received in any medical atmosphere. Every staff member from the front office to the surgeon were caring, compassionate, and real. Real as in they treated me as an equal human and looked me in the eyes while talking, truly listened to what I wanted, and even the surgeon sat down to take time to hear my concerns. These acts of kindness are a lost art in the medical world and so many of us have become accustomed to arrogance and rushed services. If he could be my primary I would drive to Michigan, lol. They are patient and meticulous and my results are more than I imagined. I have the neck of the gods, the neck of Nefertiti, the neck... okay I'll stop but seriously my hour lift plus neck lift took 20 years off of me. My son says I look 8 years old, hahahaha love it!

Great Bedside Manners and Skilled Doctor

I went in to see this doctor a year ago for a mini facelift. He came in the room looked over my face thoroughly and said I wasn't ready for one. My skin was still tight so to wait a year and come back. He said I should just keep up the usual fillers and botox. I did that and now a year later I went back to see if my face was ready for a mini facelift. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my face so I can't stand to see one wrinkle, jaws or saggy skin. He took a look at my face and said no I still wasn't ready but he could do some botox and fillers there to fix what I didn't like. I agreed and he did the Y-lift procedure so that the fillers are down deep and don't have the effect of "fat face" you get when an unskilled doctor places it right under the skin, I can spot those people right away. The doctor did his work and I left. All doctors tell you there's a follow up in about 2 weeks and they can touch up anything that maybe didn't even out or needs a little more. I'm really fair skin and bruise easy so I was pretty bruised under the eyes. I called the doctor went back in and was upset I was so bruised. He pulled out one of his lasers and broke the bruising right up. Gone! Also because I'm so picky I asked him to touch up a few places and he's such a good doctor he fixed them right up. This doctor isn't one of those doctors out to make money off each and every person. If you go in for something and he thinks its not going to look good he tells you. If he does anything and your not 100% happy he listens and does his best to fix it. His bedside manners are the best. I just can't say enough good stuff.

There Aren't Enough Words -- Dr. Seiger is Amazing!

There are no words to say how wonderful I think Dr. Seiger is! I have gone there with several problems, and one that was actually quite concerning following a surgery somewhere else (scarring, etc.) -- and he is like the miracle I was looking for. He is so personable, always smiling, consistently warm and caring. We never really want to see a doctor because outcomes can be uncertain, but I am always so happy to see Dr. Seiger because of his caring manner (just what you need when you are looking for help in an unfortunate situation) -- and because I know intuitively he will help me. You feel at ease immediately and as if you are in amazing hands -- and you truly are. Anything I've had done there has turned out amazing, and I have examples of the fact that Dr. Seiger is not about the money!!! I know this is hard to believe, but I have more than one example! I wish I had known about Skin and Vein long ago. He is a true expert, but it's about more than that. Everyone at Skin and Vein treats you like you are the only patient they've ever had, but Dr. Seiger truly cares about people and whether or not they are happy. There is something exceptional about the atmosphere overall; you are not just a number at Skin and Vein. If there is something you want to do and Dr. Seiger doesn't think it will return the results you are looking for, or it isn't the right procedure for you, he will be forthright and tell you. He will, without question, allow you to leave the clinic and do nothing/spend nothing because he actually wants what is best for you. When he is willing to do something, then you know his heart is in it and he will do anything in his power to give you a good result! I love him to pieces, he is my favorite doctor of all time. Ever!

Mini Facelift

Excellence

I wanted to write this review for all those women who are considering getting a mini facelift. I am from New York and decided to fly out to Detroit to see Dr. Seger. I had gone to other plastic surgeons here in New York, with a very high-priced tag. They all felt I needed a neck lift as well as the mini facelift to accomplish what I had hoped to gain. Doing lots of research on the Internet I ran across an ad for Dr. Seger and skin and vein center. I couldn’t believe that this doctor was offering mini facelift for $2900. This price is unheard of and although I had my reservations I did my due diligence and and found Dr. Seger to be as experienced as those that I had met here in New York. Ashley from Dr. Seger‘s office asked me to send in some facial photos for the doctor to examine and discuss what would be the best plan for me. His recommendation was indeed a mini facelift and possibly a neck lift, to be determined in his office when I arrived. During my office visit one month later the doctor did not feel that a neck lift was necessary. We want to head with the mini facelift surgery. I felt nothing I was wide-awake, had music playing and it was over before I knew it. I had my mini facelift two days ago. The office personnel was wonderful. They took me right on time and made me feel comfortable. The vibe that I received was like I was home with family taking care of me. I had some slight discomfort the first evening but it is now Day 2 and I can already say I’m ready to go show my youthfulness and regained self-confidence that I feel. I’m 56 years young and wanted my appearance to match how young and vibrant I feel inside. Mission accomplished! I recommend Dr. Seger and his staff with the highest respect and recommendation. Thank you Dr. Seger and team.

29 Y/o Male

I wanted to post a review because this site really helped me to understand what I was getting into with the procedure, recovery, expectations and possible adverse effects. Sorry guys but I didnt take any pictures. That said, I had my procedure done 8 weeks ago, Jan 5, 2018 at the Skin and Vein center in Fenton, MI. I called and had my consultation over the phone with the technician who performed the MiraDry treatment. We set up a date and I had to place a $200 down payment. When I got there I filled out some standard forms and then I stripped down to the cutoff shirt that exposed the armpits for the procedure. Prior to going in, which was on a Friday, I stopped using any deodorant as I didnt want any reaction or additional skin irritation occurring. I also trimmed the hair down as short as possible without actually shaving. I was afraid of ingrown hairs or small cuts causing issues. As far as I can tell, the reason to trim/shave is so the machine can maintain suction while its hot pocketing your arm pits. Next, she used tumescent anesthesia on the area. I have read on others reviews that their offices did this by inserting a catheter. This was not the case at this office. She filled the arm pits with 125ccs of dilute lidocaine/epinephrine solution using five 25cc syringes and 16ga needles. For those who arent in the medical field, they are sometimes referred to as "stirring straws". I was pretty afraid that these were going to be super painful, but she numbed the needle sites with lidocaine prior to using the syringes so there wasnt any pain in the armpits from the needles. The only pain I experienced was the fluid filling the area. My skin did not like it at all and it was really uncomfortable. But, a few seconds after they were filled , they were so numb I couldnt feel anything. (FYI there is a calculation that is used to detemine how much lidocaine your can safely tolerate based on body weight. make sure that they are following these guidelines. The tech at Skin and Vein made sure to check prior to the start of the procedure). This tumescent procedure makes alot of sense. The wand emits a high frequency microwave, so it only penetrates a few mm. We only want it to hit the skin, and protect the rest of the tissue underneath, so why not put a pillow of fluid [numbing fluid :)] underneath? I would definitely ask about their anesthesia method during the consult. The actual miradry part was easy. She laid out a grid with temporary tattoo, and placed the wand according to the location called out on the machine display, and pressed the button. The wand suctions your skin up and nukes it for a few seconds. Some folks felt a warm sensation. I couldnt feel a thing. Once she was done with one side, we repeated everything on the other. She then cleaned the area with some alcohol wipes, handed me a couple of ice packs and I was on my way. My armpits felt like they had a tennis ball stuck in them and I couldnt put them down very far. That said, driving home isnt too big of a deal. The pits are still totally numb. I had to drive an hour in a stick shift so if I can make it so can you. I took the day off, and stayed home, keeping to the icing schedule of 20min/hr for the first 24 hours. The easy way to do this is to have two sets of ice packs and binge watch a tv show on netflix. At the start of an episode, swap the current packs with ones in the freezer and ice for about half the episode then take them out of the pits. Swap again at the next episode and so on. I did this for the entire day friday and saturday. The only exception was the first night, where I wrapped frozen water bottles in pillow cases until the cooling effect wasnt going to create frostbite, then slept on my back with the bottles tucked in. There will be bruising and soreness. You could also have fluid retention, like I did. I put on 6lbs of water weight the first few days. my whole body felt jiggly. By the end of week one, the water weight was gone and the pits only had minimal swelling. by the end of week two the swelling was gone and by week three, there wasn't any bruises visible. also expect decreased skin sensation in the area for ~4-6weeks. So far, Im on week 8 and have about an 80% reduction in sweat. I wont sweat through a shirt unless its an intense workout. I dont really even need antiperspirant anymore. Hair growth is 80% gone too and looks like I will have to keep the area shaved in order for it to look alright but its not a big deal. Its probably a good side effect for women. All in all, I would recommend this if your pits sweat non stop, like mine did. Hope this review helps!

Scar Removal

Revised Scar - Garden City, MI

Let me preface this by saying that I am obsessive compulsive about flaws with my skin and appearance. I had scar tissue along my upper forehead that made me extremely self-conscious in public. It turned me into a recluse. I refused to go anywhere and was depressed most of the time. I had scheduled consults with surgeons. All of them told me the same thing. "Not much could be done." According to them, the scar tissue was in a spot where it was "too difficult/risky to revise." Obviously this made me even more depressed. I didn't want to live with this scar the way it was. Well, not one to just give up, I stumbled upon the Skin and Vein Center one night while browsing the internet for another option. I figured I might as well try again. I scheduled a consult appointment and met with Dr. Seiger. The thing that struck me instantly- and I'm sure every other single person who has met him absolutely agrees- is that he genuinely cares about people. He wants you to be happy. He wants to help you in whatever way he can. He understands that physical disfigurations often come with psychological baggage, and he is extremely empathetic and understanding. I never had any type of "cosmetic" surgery performed before, so you can imagine I was nervous. But Dr. Seiger and his staff assured me that the scar could be revised with little risk for complication. So I scheduled for it to be revised. The day of, I was even more nervous. But once, again Dr. Seiger and his staff were able to reassure me. There was no pressure. So- to make me feel better- he split the revision in half. Offering to revise half of the scar now, and half in a second treatment a month later. He told me this was the scar would be smaller in length. I agreed to this. One of the best decisions I ever made. Everything went smoothly. Very professional. And yet still very comforting. It's over a year later now. And my resulting, revised scar looks 90% better than it did before. It looks so much less visible that I can hardly believe it's only been a year. If you are looking to change something about your appearance, the Skin and Vein Center is the place to look to. Don't wait. You don't have to live with what bothers you. The staff is always friendly and professional. Dr. Seiger is like a therapist and fantastic surgeon rolled into one. And he wants you to be the happiest you can be. If I could rate this place higher, I would. I will continue to go back for any other problems I have.

MiraDry

29 Years Old, MiraDry Has Been Life Changing! Fenton, MI

I can’t speak enough praise for the MiraDry system. I hope this review helps others choose the treatment method that’s right for them, and help those who are considering MiraDry. All of the community reviews on this forum convinced me to choose this procedure and answered a lot of questions and cured a lot of anxiety. I have suffered from hyperhidrosis since my early teen years. I would heavily soak any shirt I had on. I would often avoid light colors/white as staining was obvious after only a couple of wears. Grey was out of the question because of how much you could see my sweat soaked pits. Bright solid colors, or black was the only thing that I could wear to hide it the best. I actually didn’t know it was a medical condition until very recently. I essentially got tired of always being self conscious about my sweat and started Google searching it. Like most everyone here, I too tried all of the remedies. Rotating brands of deodorant every two days, prescription strength over the counter deodorant, doctor prescribed deodorant, baby powder, everything - nothing gave lasting results. I looked into plastic surgery to “scrape” my glands away, but didn’t choose this because they essentially “guess” that they got them all. I looked into Botox because my insurance covered some of this. I’ve heard the Botox works great but you have to go in for repeat injections. I’ve also heard that the Botox actually doesn’t work after using it a while and then you’re stuck back at square one. My sweating became exceptionally heavy under stressful situations, even when doing nothing physically demanding, like job interviews. My sweat logged pits and shirts were a conscious thought ALL OF THE TIME. It was literally exhausting and frustrating to make an effort to hide my armpits all of the time to avoid embarrassment. I could be sitting on the couch watching TV in an air-conditioned room, and my pits would be wet. It was a guarantee every day that I would have wet shirts, sometimes even changing shirts in the afternoon. There are about 6-7 offices in Michigan that offer MiraDry. One office is five minutes from my house. I called all of the offices and was quoted prices. Most were around $2800-3000 for a total of two rounds. I called the Skin and Vein Center: Dr. Eric Seiger, located in Fenton, MI. Stacy does all of their MiraDry procedures. I can’t say enough good things about her. She spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me answering all of the questions I had, never sounding patient and wanting to make sure I didn’t hang up without answering all that she could. Stacy is a certified MiraDry specialist, meaning she put herself through extra training and more extensive testing to earn this title. That, and a quote of $2300 convinced me to drive the 100 miles to her office to have it done. Stacy did both of my procedures. She is honestly the best; I wish every MiraDry patient could have her. She is very knowledgeable about the system, and kept me relaxed. FIRST TREATMENT: The first treatment went very well. I had 53 numbing shots in each armpit. I was a little anxious for the treatment, and I was going to start at a level 3 or 4. She never pressured me but she recommended that I jump right up to level 5 for my first treatment. The amount of seconds the system is “nuking” the sweat glans is minuscule compared from a level 4 to 5. Plus, I wanted to get my monies worth! From what I remember there were about 15-20 placements of the wand on each side. It was surprisingly not as bad as I was anticipating. You can definitely feel the wand get warm during its phases, but completely bear able. There were only a few spots near the outsides of my pits where it got a little “hot” but it only lasted for a split second before it was done. The whole process took about two hours. The worst part of the whole thing was the numbing shots. I received the shot in my rear end to help with the swelling, and I followed her recommendation for icing and taking ibuprofen. I iced my arms for the rest of the day, as well as nearly all day the following day. The next day, my pits were definitely swollen and puffy - very strange looking. Aside from a LITTLE tender, there was really no pain! The tenderness went away after a day or two and I was left with puffy/swollen pits that eventually subsided to normal after a week or two. I had an extended amount of time between my first and second treatment. After my first treatment, I had no sweat from my armpits! Stacy said that this would be normal and some sweating would come back after a couple of months after the remaining sweat glans “woke up” from their shock. I would work hard – basketball, working outside in the sun, renovating houses. I would sweat everywhere else that I normally do but my pits would stay completely dry! I couldn’t even believe it. After about three months and continued extensive physical labor, there were only TWO instances that I would see sweat in the pit areas of my shirts. The sweat that was there was barely noticeable and was NOTHING like before. It was such a small amount that I had to look hard at my shirt to see if it was moist. I had about a 90% drop in sweating! This was such a drastic change I couldn’t be happier. It was such a positive change that I was thinking about not doing my second treatment. I ended up doing the second treatment anyways because I wanted to make sure I got ALL of the glands that I could because I knew how bad I used to. SECOND TREATMENT: I had my second treatment about 5 months after my first. It had nothing to do with my recovery but for other non-related reasons. I was extremely looking forward to my second treatment to zap the final amount of glands that could remain. I had the treatment about 1-½ weeks ago from writing this review. It could not have gone any better! It lasted for about one hour this time. This time I was given about 60 numbing shots in each arm due to some sensitivity in some spots the last time. Again the shots were the worst part, only because they stung every so often. During the placements of the wand, I felt NO hot spots in either arm. I elected to do level 5 again. After ten placements I actually had to ask Stacy if she put it on level 5 again because it was completely bearable! I took the shot in my rear again to help with swelling and iced during my drive home and for a couple of hours that night. The next day, it was almost as if I didn’t even have the procedure done! My pits barely swelled and there was NO tenderness, no pain, and no discomfort. I actually went to work the next day where I have to wear body armor and I nearly forgot that I had the procedure done almost 24 hours prior. I didn’t ice on any day after the first and the minor amount of swelling that was there was gone within about three days. It’s been about 1-½ weeks since my second treatment and of course I don’t have any sweating. After the shock wears off in a few months, I am anxious to see how much, if any sweating comes back. It was such a little amount before my second treatment that there can’t be many glands left. I can’t believe how much of a life changing experience this process has been. This has been money very well spent and well worth it. If only this system was available earlier in my life! I can now wear light colored shirts, grey shirts, and white shirts that won’t stain. I feel completely comfortable in dress clothes and confident that I’m not soaked anymore.

Amazing! - Sterling Heights, MI

I have been visiting the Skin and Vein Center for the past few months for laser tattoo removal. From day one Dr. Seiger and Jennifer have been absolutely incredible and knowledgeable. I have been using the brand new Pico Sure laser and i have to say this thing is incredible! I have giant professionally done bold black tattoos on both of my hands and knuckles, I just had my third appointment and there is a HUGE difference from just three sittings. As a person just beginning this procedure I naturally had my questions and concerns with the healing process after the first appointment, however, without and problem what-so-ever they took time out of their days to answer all of my questions and personally had me come back in to see the progress, WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!? Dr. Seiger and his staff know exactly what they are talking about and are the most personable group i have ever encountered in the medical field. Not to mention the price was the best out of all the places i had gotten quotes from. I would recommend Dr. Seiger to everyone!
