Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon

I feel so fortunate for the training I received and the refinement many years of practice and teaching has afforded me. I knew that working with the face was something that is a little harder than other areas, but with continued focus, high success can be found. I feel most people would rather look a little tired or less than perfect, rather than looking silly or overcorrected. I try to find how little it takes to create or restore confidence in one’s appearance. To be given someone’s trust with their appearance shouldn’t be taken lightly. Personally, seeing the glow of new confidence in a patient is the greatest joy for me.

Well Worth the 2 Hour Drive!!!

When considering a breast augmentation, one of my top priorities was to find a female surgeon. After seeing Dr. Humenansky’s work, I knew she was the one! She made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process and answered every question I had along the way. I couldn’t be happier with my results and will always recommend Dr. H to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon!

I am elated with the natural results and refreshed look of my deep plane face/neck lift. Dr. Rich and his office staff are wonderful. Had a wonderful experience before, during and after my surgery

My surgery was due to a traumatic injury to my nose. Smythe was able to get me in quickly for my initial appointment and from there we had a surgery date. Smythe made sure. I was well informed about what to expect and had a wonderful experience before, during and after my surgery. Highly recommend him and his professional staff.

Wonderful Staff - caring people who spend time with their clients

Excellent care. Dr. Rich and his staff are caring people who spend time with their clients and answer their questions. My experience with them with two surgeries as well as other facial services has been excellent so far.

Q: Would an upper blepharoplasty revision with epicanthy reposition my eyebrow tattoo?
Answered by Dr. HumenanskyDecember 22, 2023

A: The eyebrow and the eyelid are two separate units and should be treated as such. Eyelid surgery may change the shape and appearance of your eyelid but should not alter the position or appearance of the eyebrow. If possible, I would consider waiting on your eyebrow tattoo until after your surgery to ensure you're pleased with the appearance of your eye area. Some patients who are concerned about heaviness or hooding of the eyes, may also benefit from a brow lift. I would talk with your plastic surgeon to see if he/she recommends that for you as well.

Q: Is my issue Eyelid or Dermatochalasis? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. HumenanskyDecember 18, 2023

A: Sorry to hear about your injury. There are generally three reasons why one eyelid may appear more "droopy" than the other. #1 true eyelid ptosis #2 dermatochalasis (excess skin) #eyebrow ptosis. An in person exam with a plastic & reconstructive or oculoplastic surgeon would help you identify which one is causing your concern. One year out from your accident, swelling should have subsided.

Q: Is it worth getting my deviated septum repaired? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. RichDecember 29, 2020

A: The key here isn't if you would benefit from a slightly difficult septoplasty but how to do this without insurance in an era when the hospital cost normally exceeds $30,000. Most facilities offer self pay rates that are negotiated. Here costs are less than $2000. The surgery must maintain support of the tip of your nose while moving it to midline to open both sides for breathing. This makes it slightly like a rhinoplasty but skilled ENT surgeons are capable as well as others specializing in rhinoplasty. You can benefit but need to ask the questions about costs.
Good luck,

Q: I think I have a weak chin and double chin. Should I do Kybella or chin fillers? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. RichJuly 9, 2020

A: If you speak to a qualified surgeon they will definitely suggest a chin implant. Perfect..permanent..and rare problems. You will spend much more and have less effect with injectables. The perception of fat under your chin is just redundant unsupported tissue that would disappear with a stronger jaw line.

Q: What can I do for my heavy mouth corners, not marionette lines? I’m hoping for something that would last a while. I’m 25 (Photo)
Answered by Dr. RichJuly 9, 2020

A: The common answers of botox for the depressor muscle or filler will be brief and partially correct the concern. A correctly sized chin augmentation will release the ligaments pulling the corners of the mouth down and more importantly produce a better jawline. This is permanent and rarely but easily removed.

Good luck
