Q: Stitches Did Not Dissolve After Breast Reduction?
Answered by Dr. McClureAugust 8, 2017

A: This is common in a breast reduction.   There are hundreds of stitches placed in a breast reduction.  Sometimes before they dissolve, your body can push them to the surface of the skin.  If this occurs, they can be pulled out.    Best of luck.

Q: Will chest exercises lift and reduce my breasts?
Answered by Dr. McClureAugust 8, 2017

A: Some people can lose breast mass by losing weight.   When you lose weight you also lose the fatty tissue in your breast.  The amount varies per individual patient.  Unfortunately, the ptosis (sag) most likely will not improve without a breast lift/reduction.

Good luck

Q: How Much Does Breast Reduction Cost?
Answered by Dr. McClureAugust 8, 2017

A: It can vary depending on where you live.  Also, some very large reductions would take extra time and could cost a little more for anesthesia and O.R. facility fee.   Figure somewhere between $6500-$7000

Good luck.

Q: Is a vertical scar necessary as well as a horizontal for diastasis recti surgery? (photos)
Answered by Dr. McClureApril 25, 2017

A: Typically you would need to have a horizontal incision for this operation.   There can be reasons for a vertical incision so I would be certain to ask your plastic surgeon why a vertical incision is required.  You need to make sure all of your questions are answered before proceeding.  Best of Luck

Q: Would I be a breast reduction candidate? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. McClureFebruary 15, 2017

A: Breast reduction has a very high rate of satisfaction among patients.  Symptoms breast reduction improve include neck pain, shoulder pain, bra strap grooving, and intertrigo.

Additional benefits include improvement in exercise/daily activities as well as finding bras and bathing suits that fit.

Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to find out if you are a candidate.   Best of luck.
