Basically I was told there was no need for me to try to get my breast corrected after a past botched augmentation. And was sent home. It’s obvious that I need my breast fixed but she disagreed. Wouldn’t recommend.
I had a double mastectomy and then reconstructive surgery. This was my first time having anything done to my breasts. I look horrible! I did everything I was told to do and now I hate to look at myself
Finally scheduled for a reduction on 7/26/18. Looking forward to the surgery as it will be the first step in my plans for a makeover. Going with Dr. White at Chattahoochee Plastic Surgery. Bcbs ga approved the surgery at the first request. Hoping to go down to a small C. Pre op is on 7/16. A bit nervous and excited about the big day. Updated on 10 Jul 2018: It’s getting real, my fmla and std are approved and I’ll be off for several weeks. I have a feeling that I’ll heal better knowing I can allow my body to recoup as needed. I had my 9 month old last October and went back to work 8 weeks later, so I am not short changing myself this go around. I still have questions about the type of recovery supplies needed. For instance which gauze to use, there’s so many. Not sure if the gauze with petroleum is recommended? Just bought a few different types to be on safe side. Also wondering what type of antibiotic cream is best? Neosporin, bacitracin, silver cream or the list goes on. Later today I’m getting my outfit for driving home, few camis, and couple of button down nighties . I really appreciate the tip below to have my post op stuff handy because I remember how hard it was with a newborn last year running around town looking for ice packs????. Updated on 10 Jul 2018: Tried on a nightie and noticed how saggy these boobs are! Can’t wait to fit smaller shirts and buy off the rack bras! No more lane Bryant/cacique bras! Hoping to go from 40 h to a C. My goal is to have a tummy tuck next spring????but to lose about twenty pounds first. This weekend I will order hello fresh meal service so that my husband can make easy and healthy meals after the surgery. Updated on 10 Jul 2018: Well I’m starting to pick up supplies and I must admit, I’m excited. I plan to buy everything I need and have it delivered at least a week before the surgery. To compound things I’m having to do back to school shopping early for my 8 yr. old . I plan to continue reading reviews to pick up tips. Updated on 16 Jul 2018: Had my pre op appt today and after thinking I’d have to reschedule, it worked out! Next week I’ll be having my long desired breast reduction!! My preop rep was the funniest person ever and it made me relax. I signed the necessary paperwork and received my post op instructions as well. When I got home some of my supplies arrived! Unfortunately the Hanes bras I ordered on amazon did not fit and so they were returned. I’m glad to have received my medical bedside table, which I plan to use as a convenient space for my laptop, supplies, and drinks/meals. Updated on 17 Jul 2018: Was pleasantly surprised upon arriving home to learn my hospital table ordered on Amazon was assembled by husband. My backrest pillow and ice packs also arrived. Getting excited about even the smallest things folks! Updated on 18 Jul 2018: Well this morning my two bumps got bigger. Ughh go away! Well I’m at urgent care praying it’s just a bug bite. I plan to call my plastic surgeon with the update once I’m examined. Ayiyi I hope it works out. Updated on 19 Jul 2018: I’m 40 y.o., 5”6 and 210. Hopefully this will be my last week in these pricey Lane Bryant bras! Updated on 24 Jul 2018: Just a couple of days to go before my breast reduction and the anticipation is great. Having house cleaned tomorrow and carpet shampoo’d Friday. I don’t know how I’ll make it through the day tomorrow! Hoping I get a Cvs coupon, as I need miralax, numbing spray for catheter pain, neosporin, arnica, pads, throat spray in case it hurts, and a novel and magazine. Last week I had to send back a fruit of the loom open front sports bra in size 42. I received a 46 and it fits loose. I’m keeping it, but def will need a smaller size, perhaps a 44. Doesn’t offer much support, but it’s all I have right now. Updated on 25 Jul 2018: Went to Target and picked up a zip up jacket and yoga pant, arnica, gummy multivitamin, more neosporin, miralax, and aquaphor. Still hoping for a CVS coupon for some cosmetics, ice packs, numbing spray for bottom/ catheter spray, gauze pads and protein shakes and aloe drink. That’s all because all this shopping is adding up! Updated on 26 Jul 2018: Well it’s happening! I met with my doctor and she was sweet as can be. I’m happy with my choice. Check out the markings below. Updated on 26 Jul 2018: Just got home I made it to the other side! I can’t believe how much is gone! I love it and keep you updated but I’m in pain I need to go, Updated on 26 Jul 2018: Hurts but worth it. About to take my pill and nap again! Updated on 26 Jul 2018: I’m feeling much better after taking a couple of naps. I love my new bust. I can tell that the size is exactly what I wanted. More to come tomorrow. Updated on 27 Jul 2018: Thrilled, excited, pleased and grateful to Dr. White! for these cute boobs. I will be setting up my consult for my tummy tuck with her. Her incisions are cleanly closed and I love the shape! Updated on 28 Jul 2018: Well my healing is coming along and I am resting a lot more after doing more than I should have the first day. My righty is a bit more tender and has a small area that is open. I’m not super concerned, but I am keeping a watchful eye on it. My lefty is doing great, with healing coming along. I’m so pleased with my results that I want to cry every time I see them. I can’t stress how I should of had more neosporin and gauze handy and extra sports bras. I went out earlier to get the supplies at cvs and washed my bra. I have two bras enroute from amazon so I didn’t want to buy additional. My advice is to take it easy, rest, take vitamins and protein and not lift anything. Updated on 1 Aug 2018: Things are coming along well. I’ve been resting and taking it easy. I think my body is healing better now that I’ve taken it easy. My righty I looking better. My lefty has been great all along. Updated on 9 Aug 2018: Things really have been going well and I’m thankful. Both breasts are healing well and I am excited at the prospect of wearing a tube top again and going bra shopping! My doctor is excellent! She has a wonderful bedside manner and has guided me through this process well. Ladies, I highly recommend getting this surgery if you’re on the fence! Updated on 10 Aug 2018: Well I was curious to see if my old bra (40 h) would fit and I was pleased to see the difference in cup size was significant. I will buy new bras in a couple of weeks. Wearing these sports bras gets old! Updated on 10 Aug 2018: Updated on 25 Aug 2018: Well things have gone well and life is almost back to normal. I go back to work in a couple of days and I am feeling like I am ready. Swelling has improved and I can actually lay down on my stomach and it not hurt. I wish I would’ve did this a lot sooner and I have no regrets.
