Breast reduction scheduled for 7/26/18!
Lovely lady bJuly 9, 2018
Finally scheduled for a reduction on 7/26/18.
Looking forward to the surgery as it will be the first step in my plans for a makeover.
Going with Dr. White at Chattahoochee Plastic Surgery. Bcbs ga approved the surgery at the first request. Hoping to go down to a small C. Pre op is on 7/16.
A bit nervous and excited about the big day.

I just had my surgery on June 22. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. The relief from the strain on my neck and shoulders was immediate. A couple suggestions. make sure that you have soft ice packs for recovery. Also - a recliner is a must for healing. I found that the constipation following pain meds was awful so be sure to take stool softeners before surgery and after and then milk of magnesia after surgery. Good luck!

Congrats on your surgery! Thank you for the tips! I am ordering a hospital bed table and a husband pillow on Amazon, so I’ll add the suggested items to my cart. I’m so excited!

I’m going on Monday the 16th so I’ll keep you posted as to how things go for me. It looks like we’re about the same size now and I told my Dr. that I wan to go down to a full B or small C so we’ll see how it goes. I’m so nervous but reading the post of the other women who have done it really helps to ease my anxiety!

FMLA and STD paperwork submitted!
Lovely lady bJuly 10, 2018
It’s getting real, my fmla and std are approved and I’ll be off for several weeks. I have a feeling that I’ll heal better knowing I can allow my body to recoup as needed. I had my 9 month old last October and went back to work 8 weeks later, so I am not short changing myself this go around.
I still have questions about the type of recovery supplies needed. For instance which gauze to use, there’s so many. Not sure if the gauze with petroleum is recommended? Just bought a few different types to be on safe side. Also wondering what type of antibiotic cream is best? Neosporin, bacitracin, silver cream or the list goes on.
Later today I’m getting my outfit for driving home, few camis, and couple of button down nighties .
I really appreciate the tip below to have my post op stuff handy because I remember how hard it was with a newborn last year running around town looking for ice packs????.

Usually your doctor will tell you exactly what they want you to do in terms of post-op care. They may give you supplies to take home. You should get a discharge sheet that has written instructions as to what to do. The usual recommendations are to sleep in a semi reclining position, get up and walk around every hour or two, and mine said to flex my ankles ("ankle pumps") ...this is to keep your circulation moving so that you don't get blood clots in your legs! They will tell you how to empty and measure your drains, if you have them. I was given extra large nonstick pads to use as needed. But generally you will be taped up and bandaged until your first follow up, then you will have drains removed(if applicable) stitches trimmed etc. No need to put on antibiotic ointment unless they advise. My doctor had me keep tape on my incisions but some don't, they are all different. Some find arnica cream or gel helpful for bruising and pain, I had some but didn't use it a lot, I was a fan of icepacks. Some docs believe in icing and some don't, in either case you want to keep it off the nipple area (you don't want to risk reducing blood flow to the nipple).

Ahhh thank you for the tips. I’ll add ice packs to my list. I’m looking forward to my Pre op and I’ll take your advice and await instructions.

I’ll be sure to move the extremities...how scary. Definitely want to avoid any complications. Thank you!

Saggy boobs ????
Lovely lady bJuly 10, 2018
Tried on a nightie and noticed how saggy these boobs are! Can’t wait to fit smaller shirts and buy off the rack bras! No more lane Bryant/cacique bras!
Hoping to go from 40 h to a C.
My goal is to have a tummy tuck next spring????but to lose about twenty pounds first.
This weekend I will order hello fresh meal service so that my husband can make easy and healthy meals after the surgery.

OOh what a pretty nightie! Love the color! I never could wear anything like that before surgery (even when I was much younger)...my boobs were so saggy they hung BELOW the cups! Yikes! Now I have a number of things like that and I just LOOOVE being able to put them on and no saggy boobs!! ...
Just a tiny piece of advice, try not to get too attached to any particular cup size for your outcome, an H to a C is a pretty big jump...even if you don't end up quite that small a D or even DD will feel a LOT different than an H, and they will be a lot higher and tighter so it will feel a lot better! Not saying it couldn't be done, just that a good doc will not take more than what is healthy for a good outcome (taking too much can result in complications-nipple death/ other undesirable things), I have seen some gals on here be disappointed they didn't end up a certain size even though everything else was good. I went from a DDD/G to a C but I had a lot of skin and not so much dense tissue, it's harder if it's dense tissue. Be upfront with your doc about your desires but also be realistic about what can be done in terms of a HEALTHY outcome!!

Oh I’m living vicariously through you until my surgery lol happy for you!
Very good point, the letter doesn’t matter as much. I really liked my doctor and trust that she will do her best. In fact, I’m going to ask her for a tummy tuck/lipo quote so I can plan ahead. Yes healthy is what matters. I’d be happy with D’s...which would allow me to shop in regular stores again.

Anyway you ladies have been amazing! I’m hitting the store today for everything from the Milk of Magnesia and stool softeners and SOFT ice packs!! Lol!! And I’ll definitely have my pillow for my ride home!! :)
