I'm beyond grateful for Dr Cohen's incredible talent and care. The entire team made me feel comfortable during the whole process--from the pre-op, the IV treatments, surgery day and...

A: You can weight lift with implants in either location, once cleared by your surgeon. If your implants are under the muscle, you may notice some shape change to your breast and implant movement when lifting weights as the muscle contracts on the implant. Patients involved in body building and fitness contests may opt for implants over the muscle to avoid this motion when competing.
A: An incision around the areola can damage the nerve supply resulting in decreased sensitivity. Large implants can also put a strain on nerves traveling from the chest wall to the nipple which cam lead to a decrease in sensitivity. Generally, if it’s been over a year, then it is likely the sensation may not return.
A: It depends on how large your natural breast is in relation to the implant. Small implants in a large breast are barely noticeable while larger implants in a small breast will be felt. The nice thing is that silicone implants are soft and feel fairly natural. As always, it's important to research thoroughly and choose a surgeon who's technique is going to provide you with the most optimal results.
A: Depending upon where exactly the fat is located it can typically be removed with liposuction or direct excision(removal surgically). It is not caused by wearing garments that are too tight but can be made more apparent with certain tighter fitting garments. Best to see an experienced plastic surgeon for a consultation and recommendation.
A: I am sorry to hear that you are now having problems. Several things can happen to cause this but first and foremost, you need to see your plastic surgeon. There is no one else who is best at determining what is going on. A physical examination by the PS is most important and will likely result in getting a diagnosis or assistnace with a test such as an ultrasound to rule out a hematoma(blood collection)or seroma(fluid collection). I have seen this before and it can be quite painful and worsen with time. It can be treated relatively easily as well. I hope that this gives some clarification and guidance.
