Office review: deceptive practices & unprofessional office

I had a very unfortunate experience with Dr. Barrett and his office and I would strongly encourage anyone considering plastic surgery to choose a different, more trustworthy office. There were some inconsistencies from the start in which I was told the $500 consultation fee would be deducted from the price I would be quoted, although this had already been deducted apparently by the time they...

Only 2 weeks out of surgery and recovery has been extremely easy

Dr. Barrett and his team are truly wonderful. I traveled from Wisconsin to see him and my overall experience with him and his team, which includes consultation, surgery and my first and second post-op appointments, has been very pleasant. I am only 2 weeks out of surgery and recovery has been extremely easy. I highly recommend Dr. Barrett if you want to get something done as well as his...

Petite & next to no breast tissue, Dr. Barrett is awesome!

Doctor Barrett was very kind and understanding. Knowledgable and put a lot of thought into what size would work best with my body. I had some anxiety while waiting for my procedure but Dr. Barrett helped quell that anxiety and gave me a big hug which was so sweet! I have a chest wall deformity, next to no breast tissue, they’re very far apart, and I’m very petite so I think it may have bee...

This practice really sets a gold standard

This isn’t going to be another “I would give 10 stars if I could “ review, because if I could, I would give Dr.Barrett and his team a hundred stars!!! If you are from out of state or out of the country and considering getting a procedure by Dr. Barrett, my review might be helpful to you as I flew in from out of state for my breast augmentation. I’ve researched multiple clinics and doctors...

Q: Do I have tuberous breasts? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. BarrettMarch 29, 2024

A: Dear tryingtodecide14,

based on your photos, it looks like you don't have tuberous breasts. Tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall.
The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition.
My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries.
That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Q: Breast implant dropping - How long does it take and can it be quickened?
Answered by Dr. BarrettMarch 29, 2024

A: Dear Caring313312,

dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position.

Q: Chest wall deformity - is this a surgeon error?
Answered by Dr. BarrettMarch 29, 2024

A: Dear sjk4425,

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
