It’s comforting to know that when everything else in the world feels chaotic, at least one thing remains constant: the Real Housewives’ unwavering support of the aesthetics industry. This year, the first ladies of Bravo—both past and current—were all over social media, showing off the results of their nips, tucks, and injections. Here, a complete list of all of the cosmetic treatments and surgeries the Real Housewives had in 2022.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Nene Leakes
The RHOA alum took to Instagram to document her experience undergoing liposuction and a mini Brazilian Butt Lift, sharing the entire process with her more than 4 million followers. She initially saw Dr. Stanley Okoro, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Marietta, Georgia, for a consultation about liposuction but ultimately opted for both that and a mini BBL. “I wanted to have liposuction. I went into his office to get educated about liposuction 360. And then after that, we started talking about where we going to put this fat in that you’re taking out of my body. Everybody’s doing a BBL. I’m not a fan. At all. I like my ass. What I’d like to do though is fix problem areas. Maybe there’s a dent here, maybe there’s a spot there… so what do you call it? And he’s like, ‘A BBL.’ And I said, ‘No, there has to be something else. When you say BBL, I think you’re getting ready to come out of there with a big giant booty, and I just want to fix my problem areas.’ So we called it a… mini BBL,” Leakes said in an Instagram video.
Drew Sidora
Sidora opened up about having a full mommy makeover—and her reasons for doing so—in an interview with Us Weekly earlier this year. “I did a whole mommy makeover. It was like the [whole] package. Like, boobs back in place—you know, make them a little smaller ’cause I was having neck issues—and then I had a hernia, and so they did a hernia repair and a tummy tuck. That was it. I was good. I’m happy,” she told the magazine.
The 37-year-old attributed her decision to go under the knife partially due to her battle with a form of endometriosis called myosis, which she talked about on the show. “I’ve been dealing with that for all these years. And once I went and had that surgery, I was like, ‘Well, can we just put everything back where it should be?’ It was like, ‘Let’s do it while I’m down. Let me just also do something. That’s gonna make me happy.’ And that’s what I did,” she said.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Kyle Richards
It wasn’t Richards who shared the news about having undergone a breast reduction—it was Andy Cohen. In June, the talk show host accidentally spilled the beans on an episode of Watch What Happens Live when he asked Richards how her breast reduction was working out. The RHOBH OG took it in stride and laughed off the unintentional reveal, going on to explain why she chose to have the surgery. “I’ve never had implants, [but] I had double Ds… I went in and I said, ‘I want smaller boobs. I don’t ever want to wear a bra again in my life.’ And here I am.”
Brandi Glanville
Glanville was back on our screens this year as a cast member on season two of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip—and back in the news too, sharing the details of a very specific type of liposuction. Despite being previously outspoken about “not believing” in liposuction, the reality star changed her mind this summer. “I had a little laser liposuction on my fupa because everyone was saying, ‘Are you pregnant?’” she told Andy Cohen on an episode of Watch What Happens Live in July.
Teddi Mellencamp
The RHOBH alum documented the before, during, and after of her May 2022 neck lift in great detail on Instagram. “There’s been one thing that’s consistently bothered me. It seems like nothing to you guys, but it’s the loose skin on my neck. This doesn’t mean that I don’t love the skin I’m in. This is something that has bothered me since I was a young girl. It’s a deep, dark insecurity that I have, and I’m going to do something about it,” she said, explaining her decision. After trying various noninvasive treatments to no avail, Mellencamp saw Dr. Sarmela Sunder, a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California.
“Teddi was a good candidate for a neck lift because she had excess fat under her platysma muscle, which cannot be accessed with nonsurgical means. For example, neither Kybella nor liposuction can reach this area,” Dr. Sunder told RealSelf, adding that the surgery also addressed her muscle laxity.
Mellencamp also shared news about another surgery later in the year, this one to remove stage two melanoma. She posted a photo of the scars on her upper back and shoulder, with a strong piece of advice for her followers. “Let my scars be your inspiration to get preventative care,” she wrote.
The Real Housewives of Miami
Alexia Echevarria
Season four of the Real Housewives of Miami was finally broadcast in 2022, eight years after the show last aired. At the reunion, Echevarria shared that she had undergone breast surgery during that gap. “I had these historical [breast] implants for 30 years. I got a lot of use out of them, [I got] my money’s worth… and I was like, ‘I need to change it.’ All I did was switch [my implants] out,” she told Andy Cohen, adding that the new implants were the same size. She also explained her decision not to use castmate Lisa Hochstein’s plastic surgeon husband, attributing it to her “old-school” mentality.
Lisa Hochstein
Hochstein made headlines this year due to her messy separation and divorce, but she started the year talking about aesthetics. On a January episode of Watch What Happens Live, she shared that she had removed the majority of the fillers in her face. “I definitely had an addiction, and watching the show, I saw it and I was horrified,” she said. Being married to a plastic surgeon at the time also gave her unlimited access: “It’s available to me. I can do whatever I want, so I did—and it was a huge mistake,” she said, adding that she removed “maybe 60%” of the fillers.
The next month, Hochstein showed off the results of a smile makeover, performed by Dr. Michael Apa, a cosmetic dentist with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, and Dubai. “I flew all the way to New York to see @doctorapa @apa.aesthetic for my new, improved smile. I wanted to address the color, texture, shape, and shifting of my previous veneers, and I could not be happier with the results! Thank you @doctorapa ❤️,” Hochstein captioned a photo showcasing her new set of porcelain veneers.
Marysol Patton
Patton opted for noninvasive skin tightening, posting a selfie on her Instagram story during an Ultherapy appointment. “Getting more Ultherapy!!! Non surgical face lift,” she captioned the photo. Ultherapy uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production, ultimately tightening the skin, though doctors are quick to note that it does not offer the same effects as a facelift.
Larsa Pippen
At the season four reunion, Pippen copped to having had her nose and lips done as well as prior breast augmentation. But she vehemently denied any type of butt augmentation, attributing her curvy figure to good old-fashioned exercise. “I literally work out seven days a week. If I show you my photos from five years ago, I was less than 100 pounds. I’m 140 pounds now, so yeah, my legs look thicker than they were, my arms look thicker than they were. My whole body has changed …. My body’s tight because I work out,” she said. There’s been no shortage of speculation about Pippen’s derriere, including from castmate Adriana de Moura. Ironically, in a season five episode, de Moura asked for Pippen’s blessing to get a Brazilian butt lift, which many fans speculated was an intentionally shady move.
The Real Housewives of New York City
Bethenny Frankel
Frankel was all over Instagram and TikTok this year, posting video after video reviewing all kinds of beauty products. But she really made waves when she shared that, despite being outwardly outspoken about filters and unrealistic beauty standards portrayed in the media, she was contemplating plastic surgery. In a video titled The Plastic Surgery Tour Part One, the 52-year-old entrepreneur explained to her nearly 3 million followers why she was thinking about it: “I like the way I look. I’m okay. I don’t even think I really need it. The only reason I would contemplate this is, I will eventually do this, I believe. And I don’t want to do it later, when everything is hanging.” Still, she has yet to reveal exactly what she’s planning.
Sonja Morgan
Morgan has talked openly about everything, from her deep plane facelift to her experience with CoolSculpting. This year, she was named an ambassador for Sono Bello, a company that offers various types of laser liposuction treatments, and documented her experience on social media. “It’s really all about sculpting. I’m going to have the fat sucked out of these stubborn areas that bother me because I’m active, I’m in shape, I love my body, I just want to tweak it,” she said in an Instagram video. “Happy is an understatement! LOOK at these results,” she then captioned an after photo of the results.
The Real Housewives of Orange County
Shannon Storms Beador
Viewers saw Beador get fillers in her face dissolved during the premiere episode of season 16 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. At the reunion, she shared that she had just had a facelift. “I had a facelift five weeks ago. The surgeon called John [her boyfriend] and said, ‘I’ve never cut more skin out of a neck in my entire career than I have with Shannon,’” she explained, as her fellow castmates complimented her appearance.
Meghan King
The former RHOC cast member tweaked both her face and body this year, undergoing a rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. She posted selfies documenting how her nose changed throughout the recovery process—and candidly shared how she freaked out when the bandages first came off and her “nose was wider than it was originally,” she said. Her breast augmentation involved replacing her 10-year-old implants and accounting for changes from pregnancy and breastfeeding. “She wanted to fill up her breasts with additional volume, to compensate for the extra skin and the volume loss,” her doctor, Dr. Michael Niccole, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Corona del Mar, California, told RealSelf. “Her implants were also 11 years old, and the rupture rate increases once they are 10 years old. It was perfect timing to replace them,” he said, adding that she’d upgraded both the size and technology.
Gina Kirschenheiter
When Andy Cohen asked the ladies how they’d prepped for the season 16 reunion, Kirschenheiter wasn’t shy about revealing that she had tightened and toned her body. “I’ve been CoolSculpting like nobody’s business,” she quipped.
Vicki Gunvalson
The self-proclaimed “OG of the OC” has admitted to getting cosmetic work on her face, but in 2022, she turned her attention to her body. After losing weight, Gunvalson noticed that the cellulite on her butt and legs looked more prominent. “I ran into LeeAnne Locken [a Real Housewives of Dallas alum] and she looked fabulous. I’m like, ‘What in the hell did you do?’ She’s like, ‘I lost weight, and I did AirSculpt.’ I’m like, ‘Liposuction.’ She goes, ‘No, AirSculpt,’” Gunvalson told US Weekly. She opted to have the procedure—a type of minimally-invasive laser liposuction that doesn’t require anesthesia and also has some skin-tightening effects—on her butt, legs, and thighs, and is “super happy” with the results she got from Elite Body Sculpture. “I’ll be in a bathing suit and I’ll do my best to be proud of the results. It’s not perfect, but it’s a whole lot better. And that’s what I needed. It’s a whole lot better without going under the knife,” she said.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Heather Gay
It makes perfect sense that Gay is outspoken about her love of injectables—after all, she’s the owner of Beauty Lab + Laser, a medspa frequently featured on RHOSLC. Among her go-tos: Botox, lip filler, and Sculptra, though she told Page Six that she will try any treatment her business offers. “[It’s] preventative, to maintain cruise-control speed. You don’t have to accelerate or decelerate, but you have to maintain cruise control, which means maintenance. It’s all about maintenance!” she said of her attitude toward noninvasive procedures.
