9 Celebrities Who Are Refreshingly Open About Their Love of Botox

The women of Hollywood are starting to publicly praise Botox for its ability to soften facial wrinkles, stop sweating under the arms, and more.

Once upon a time, celebrities kept their lips sealed on the topic of neurotoxins while their foreheads remained suspiciously still. But as attitudes become more accepting of cosmetic procedures in general, the women of Hollywood are starting to publicly praise Botox for its ability to soften facial wrinkles, stop sweating under the arms, and more. We rounded up the mix of stars who have opened up about how key the injectable is to their anti-aging routine.

Kelly Ripa

The Live with Kelly and Ryan host hasn’t been shy about her use of injectables to keep her forehead looking so smooth. In 2014, she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that Botox “changed her life”; a year later, she talked about initially getting it to help with her “resting bitch face,” saying that now she “just looks happy all the time”; and in 2016, she described a bad experience with Botox to Megyn Kelly. Fortunately, she’s since found her go-to derm in NYC dermatologic surgeon Dr. Robert Anolik—in March, the two joked about her “acute Botox deficiency” on Instagram.

Chrissy Teigen

While the model and queen of social media has hinted that she gets injections in her forehead, she’s actually shown the world that she also gets them under her arms, for hyperhidrosis. She posted a video clip of herself receiving Botox in her armpits and said her decision to get the treatment from Beverly Hills, California, facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond was “truly the best move” she’s ever made.

Vanessa Williams

The actress didn’t hold back when she professed her love for Botox to Barbara Walters back in 2008, calling it “a miracle drug.” In her memoir, You Have No Idea: A Famous Daughter, Her No-Nonsense Mother, and How They Survived Pageants, Hollywood, Love, Loss (and Each Other), the star writes, “The doctor that I go to for my botox [sic] does it gently, so I can act. Which is important as an actress, to be able to be expressive.”

Kyle Richards

The RHOBH star joined a long list of Real Housewives who have talked about their cosmetic procedures when she responded to an Instagram commenter’s musing about the work she’s had done. “I’ve had my nose done. No secret and I get Botox. That’s it. No fillers,” she wrote.

Cindy Crawford

The supermodel and Meaningful Beauty founder told InStyle UK, “I’m not going to lie to myself, past a certain age, creams work on the texture of your skin, but, in order to restore elasticity, all I can really count on is vitamin injections, Botox, and collagen. I have a very simple, healthy life … but I owe the quality of my skin to my cosmetic surgeon.”

Christie Brinkley

Brinkley is such a big neurotoxin fan that she’s the face of Xeomin. What’s she’s not a fan of is needles. She told Coveteur, “Let’s face it—needles are scary. I’m very needle-phobic. But it’s so fast.”

Kris Jenner

The image-conscious momager told People, “Who doesn’t love Botox? For me, it’s been really great. If you’re responsible and you talk to your doctor, I think it works. It’s something that I’ve been using for a long time.”

Porsha Williams

Williams’ Mother’s Day gift to herself? Injections. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and Dish Nation cohost gave a thank-you shoutout to her to doc, Atlanta physician Dr. Thuy Doan, on social media, writing, “I feel like a Queen today! Thank you @dr.thuydoan for my fresh look! She gave me Botox on my forehead and some cheek highlighting! Being home during quarantine I started to look & feel a bit tired so @dr.thuydoan was just what the dr ordered! Shine bright like a diamond.”

Erika Jayne

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Chicago star told NewBeauty that she gets “what every other woman does that will admit it—it’s Botox, fillers, and lasers at this point.”
