Ive been getting Fraxel laser done on a hypertrophic scar & Ive had a total of 6 sessions. First two weeks after each treatment the scar remains flat however by the 4th week it is raised. I use flattening sheets& biocorneum between treatments. Ive spent a total of 1,700$ on laser still no results. Ive been thinking of injections to help flatten it but I do not have much knowledge on this. Im from buffalo NY would be open to meeting recommended doctors/derms & different treatment options.
I had a wide thick scar that I got excised 2 months back. The scar is much thinner but still slightly widened raise and red. As seen in the picture it is a linear scar on my face and is very visible. The scar is taking a great toll on my mental health. I am second year medical student and looking to get a laser treatment to help with the scar before I start rotations. (The pigmentation changes around the chin area is from stable vitiligo that I had for about 15 years) Looking forward to any suggestions.
I had a cystic acne scar on my chest removed surgically six months ago. The surgical scar developed a small hard lump in the middle. I started monthly pulsed dye laser sessions three months ago but after the last session the scar became much more raised. The hard lump is still there. I will have another PDL session in two weeks and would like to have a fraxel session after that. How long should I wait between the two?
I have many very small hypertrophic pebblestone acne scars. I've seen reference to a method where the doctor uses fraxel with a 'steroid drip right after the fraxel treatment. Is this an advisable procedure for very small raised scars (Doctors have told me that the scars are too small to inject individually).
I have a hypertrophic scar on left arm from operation. I got Fraxel::repair from a doctor in another city a week ago. And today I visited my doctor in town and he refused to use Vbeam on that scar. He said it will make it worse and will wait for two months after Fraxel to do the Vbeam. Does this make sense? Because I saw reviews in this site some doctors use these two kinds of laser at the same time for treating hypertrophic scar.
