Will Fraxel laser and PRP injection help with my hypertrophic scar? (Photo)

Question

Hypertrophic scar caused by an accident 3 months ago. Consulted with a doctor and she recommends Fraxel + PRP injection. Will it help? What kind of outcome is expected? I'm east asian. Thanks a bunch.

Scars need aerify, enlighten, or Cosmelan peels post surgery. Vivatia foam, Restorsea 10x, skinceuticals phyto +, Cosmelan 2 cream, and reveskin fortified bleaching cream all help.  Scars can be punched out and removed in the office.
 
No medical insurance covers keloid removal. You have a chance of recurrence with surgical removal but lasers can help reduce the look.
 
There are many options for hypertrophic/red/discolored scars:
1. vascular lasers (yellow laser, vbeam, excel v)
2. fractional lasers (fraxel, erbium, co2)
3. microneedling/PRP
4. silicone based scar gels with growth factors
5. excision +/- radiation

Both treatments should help your scar. There is a small chance that Fraxel can darken the scar - it can go either way. But typically these are the two treatments that I use to eliminate or reduce scarring.
