Hello everyone, i am in the first stage of researching lap band surgery and have a few questions and was hoping you could help. I am 27, weigh 135kg, am 5"10, live in Australia and have private health insurance which i can claim part of the surgery for.... How much in total inc surgery, before surgery requirements, diet and after surgery would the whole experience cost approximately? How often...

I am condiering get the lapband but I have no idea how to go about doing so? Do I make an appointment with my doctor first and they have to refer me or can I just find the clinic that does them and make an appointment there??

I'm getting very disheartened  with my lap band I would have thought that by now I'd be nice and thin haha!! Or at least on the way , so far I've lost 8ils. They keep telling me this is normal until I hit the right infill amount , I've got 7mls in a 10ml band. I hope some one out there can reassure me that I will get there and what I'm going through is normal.

I am sceduled to have my surgery on jan 16th. the doctor was not able to answer this question, and said that he would research it, and get back to me. does anyone know if i will be able to scuba dive after i have the lap band installed. is there anyone out there that is a scuba diver that knows the answer to this question?

I lost 15 lbs on the pre-op diet and have lost an additional 8 lbs since the surgery. I'm pleased with the progress so far, but am afraid of the comments I read here about folks who take a long time to see results. I won't have my first adjustment for a few weeks! Will I gain some back when I get to the next stage of eating? Also I can see the weight loss everywhere except my stomach? It is...

I'm 5'4 have struggled with my weight forever and am tired of missing out on life I'm 165 lbs. are there doctors in the us that would perform pal band surgery on me?

Sometimes diet and exercise just aren’t enough. If that’s the case, weight loss surgery might be the solution or at least part of a solution. Gastric bypass and gastric sleeve surgeries are effective, but highly invasive procedures. Lap band surgery is a more flexible, less invasive surgical option. A lap band can be adjusted to ensure you lose weight and get the right amount of nut...

I selected banding over VSG or GBS because appetite is my biggest struggle and I like the idea of an adjustable, post-surgical option for weight loss.  I am 204 pounds and 5' 2".  I am hoping to lose a minimum of 80 pounds post surgery for a goal of 124 #.  I am being more mindful of my relationship to carbs and fast food and have stayed away from both for the last several days...

Is it normal to be so exhausted every time I try to do something simple. It is day 5 and I have just finished fluid phase of my Lapband. I have no energy at all. Any advise is welcome I really want this to work, and I have no one else to ask who has lived it.

Hi -  I'm interested in getting Lap Band surgery in the NY area.  My insurance doesn't cover it.  Can anyone recommend some Doctors in New York.   I'm in the research stage.  My budget is $12k total all inclusive - is this possible?  If not I'm considering medical travel to another state, but how do I find a doctor who will do the adjustments after in...

My body has went through some major change in the last 11 months, i have been over weight for the last 18 years; i had to put a stop on it before i got any bigger. So i got the lap band put in, it has been my life saver for me as I do not want to continue to be grossly overweight. I want to get pregnant again i am 37 years, 5 foot tall, but i am afraid that i will put on the same amount of...

My BMI is 32.9, what are the medical conditions that would allow you to have lap band or sleeve surgery if BMI less than 35.
