I have severe 2nd degree facial burn scars after CO2 LR. It's been 6 months and wondering what treatments I should consider?

I have hypopigmentation and areas where the burn was so bad it left craters in my face. I have hypertrophic scarring that was treated with massive injections of Kenalog, but I've had complications from it...horrific headaches, muscle weakness and numbness, black hair on my forehead, tissue loss (craters), and a feeling like I'm about to die (no exaggeration). I'm afraid any more of it could literally kill me. My face feels like a leather mask that's one size too small. The texture of my skin is damaged and full of deep under the surface scars. I went to a make up event at Ulta sponsored by Smashbox and was told by the head guy from their company that the makeup they were using (Smashbox products) wouldn't work on my skin because I have no pores. He said they makeup was "balling up". The Smashbox guy actually had one of the girls from Ulta go and get a product from a competitor (Dermablend) because he said it works well on burn victims (what a nice guy). Before the laser my skin was beautiful I just had (in my opinion) a lot of wrinkles.I've been told by various plastic surgeons that the treatment I need would be a series of various treatments that would continue for a period of 2-3 years! That was hard to believe and extremely depressing. Every doctor that has looked at my skin has said that I have permanent damage and that my skin will never be the same. Although, they do say there can be some improvement with various treatments. Has anyone out there gone through anything like this? Any suggestions?
