Dr Epstein and his team have been so professional to work with. I called approximately 20 other doctors and none of them stood out the way Dr Epstein and his team did. I was very impressed with the systems they had in place to handle incoming calls to their practice and were very patient with my questions. The staff were able to answer detailed questions on the phone. Unlike most other surgeries that would refer me to pay for a consult quoting, " the doctor will talk with you during the consultation about that". As patients, we should not have to pay to see the doctor before knowing about the doctor. Dr Epstein has many videos online explaining his thinking and the way he approaches his surgery, and his staff were able to provide even more videos to help me in my decision process before paying a cent. Truly exceptional service that stands out from the other doctors I have called. When I see a practice that can operate so well together, I know safety is top of mind, as mistakes in medical care are so frequent and I would not trust a practice that presented in a chaotic and unprofessional manner during my first call to the practice. They have nailed the fine balance between being at the forefront of medical care and managing a business that ultimately supports the safety of their patients. My experience with this team has left a lasting impression on me and I will jump at the opportunity to recommend their surgery given the excellence they hold themselves to. Truly a rare and refreshing experience.
My Unique Explant Case…I will start by explaining my need for my most recent surgery was unexpected and something I was very unhappy about. Like all women, I wanted to look my best and underwent a breast augmentation 15+ years ago. I selected Dr. Epstein after consulting with 5 other highly recommended surgeons. Dr. Epstein spent a great deal of time going over every single one of my questions, concerns and ensuring he completely knew what I desired to look like post-op. He took 3D Vectra images of me and I looked exactly as the 3D Vectra imaging said I would once I was fully healed and I loved my results and was very happy with my 1-day recovery. I was a little fatigued the days after surgery but felt fine, no pain and was back to my normal routine very quickly. I never needed anything more than Motrin and to be honest, I think I took them just to prevent pain as I never felt enough pain to warrant carrying it around with me. I was originally a deflated C cup and ended up a full D cup. Fast forward 15 years…I had gained weight (possibly perimenopausal or just aging gracefully, who knows) and my breasts grew to a full DDD cup and I also discovered I had a genetic blood disorder, an underactive thyroid in addition to spending the past few years off and on in the hospital and with specialists for various medical conditions; gallbladder removal, pancreatitis, iron deficient anemia, and COVID. While going for a routine mammogram it was discovered I had a small nodule in my breast and was sent for a Breast MRI which also indicated that I had a small rupture in my breast implant as well. I would have never known without imaging as my breasts still looked amazing after all this time. Sadly, my team of specialists recommended that for my health I have the implants removed as I had more than 4 indicators that I had been experiencing Breast Implant Illness. I was devastated. I did not want another surgery and I did not want to even wonder what I would look like without my implants as I had had them most of my adult life. All I could think about was what would I look like, how badly the scars would look and what if they were wrong and I underwent this change and was still getting sick. Surgery again…. I did my due diligence and went to many surgeons and asked for their opinions, while also telling them what I was hoping to look like. But again, it was ONLY Dr. Epstein that took the time to actually care, listen, understand and reassure me that I would be happy with the results and feel better with an explant and a lift with a transfer of fat from the abdomen for fullness. I wasn’t convinced but after many discussions with family and friends I came to the realization that health is wealth and beauty can be achieved without perfect breasts. I underwent surgery, in a hospital setting (due to the medical clearance approval from my hematologist) and I followed Dr. Epstein’s pre and post operative care to the letter. I woke up feeling sore but no significant pain. I was up walking around right away. While I needed to stay in the hospital to be monitored by my hematologist which was truly precautionary, I was able to walk around, eat, drink and function as myself. I even stopped the pain medication within the first 24 hours as I didn’t need it at all. The results…aside from peeking when the doctors did as they checked for bleeding where the incisions were, I never really looked at my breasts in the first few days as I was so worried about the change, the wounds and the size. My hospital room had such a tiny high mirror so I was unable to really look at them until I got home. I was shocked, absolutely shocked. They barely looked different or smaller. They fit my body and Dr. Epstein was able to give me the exact results I was hoping for. I am literally only a cup size smaller than when I arrived at the hospital. I have had multiple post-operative check in appointments, and we have compared all of my pre & post op imaging and surprisingly, this explant and lift surgery results are exactly the results I got from my first augmentation surgery. I am very fortunate to have gained weight over the years to be able to have to have grown my own fat and end up with the most desired results. I am also beyond blessed to have a surgeon that not only was able to perform the surgery exactly as I wished but truly took the time to understand my goals and make them happen. Dr. Epstein also personally reached out to me multiple times after my surgery to check in with me and see how I was feeling. There is no medical professional, in my experience, that has topped this level of care and professionalism! He is one of a kind, a true perfectionist and top doctor in his field.
I am 73. Dr. Epstein came highly recommended and he reassured me that I was a candidate for a lift. It was the best decision I could’ve made. He is a true artist and perfectionist. He and his staff were wonderful preparing me. They patiently answered every question and I had a lot! I remember waking up after surgery and being surprised that I could move my . He and his staff called to check on me and even sent flowers whiarms even overhead without pain. I literally took one pain pill the first night in case of pain and 2 ibuprofen pills the next morning. That was it. There was no painch was really sweet. Today I had my one month checkup. I feel great and am so happy with my results. So grateful to Dr. Epstein and staff!
Very pleasurable. The doctor is very knowledge and professional. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He took the time to thoroughly explain the procedures. He spent a great deal of time in our follow-up visits. He and his staff are responsive to all calls and inquires in a patient and caring manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Epstein for any facial procedure.
I had been thinking about breast augmentation for many years but was unable to actually act on it due to many concerns about elective surgery. Why would I have surgery that I did not actually need? Finally, I got tired of thinking about it (and thinking about it!) so, I decided to at least go for some consultations after retiring. Well, I went to Dr Epstein based on reviews and a friend’s recommendation and did not have to look any further. Although I was very pleased with the consultation, I still wanted to think about it some more (several years of thinking was not enough) so I waited another 6 months and finally decided to get the surgery. I was very concerned; however. I was concerned about the anesthesia, concerned that it would affect my very active lifestyle, concerned that I would be uncomfortable, concerned about infection, concerned about what people would say and on and on. Dr Epstein and his staff were wonderful and went out of their way to allay my concerns yet were very honest about any possible complications. I received detailed instructions about what I needed to do before and after the surgery and his wonderful anesthesiologist even called me a few days before the surgery and told me what to expect. After I spoke with her, I knew that I was in very capable hands. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about. The surgery went very well and my recovery was just as Dr Epstein said it would be “one day”. I took a nap when I got home and when I woke up, I felt fine. I did not even need the recommended ibuprofen. I made dinner that night and had a completely normal evening. I was able to lift my arms over my head and did the recommended arms over the head stretching with no problem. I was sore to the touch by the incision and under the breasts (so I was careful to touch gently) but otherwise had zero discomfort. Within a couple of days I was hiking my usual several miles per day and waiting for the day when I could get back to more strenuous exercising. After 6 weeks, I was back to tennis and biking, and I just started working out in the gym again. My incisions are healing beautifully and every day the soreness (to be expected after surgery) is less. And as far as how they look – wow – perfect. He gave me exactly the size of was looking for and I could not be happier. I am highly recommending Dr. Epstein and his entire staff.
I've been thinking about getting a breast augmentation since I was in high school and over the years have been taking the steps to do consultations and find the right doctor for me. Now at 25 I'm so happy to have found the perfect doctor for me and am thrilled with the expected outcome of my results. My surgery is scheduled for April 12th! I'm 5ft5, 128lbs with a slim build. Im posting my inspo pics and imaging results here. I will likely be going with a 275cc or 295cc to achieve a full C cup or maybe even slightly larger, but a natural look. I am getting boob greed haha! All to be discussed at my preop in 2 weeks! Updated on 12 Apr 2023: So so so happy with my results! I arrived at the practice at 7:30a and went into surgery around 8:30a. Prior to this I was instructed by my surgery to take 4 500mg Tylenol ES the day before and 1000mg the morning of for continued pain management, along with some of the other medications they prescribed me for reducing possibility of infection. Not gonna lie seeing the whole OR setup was definitely anxiety inducing but I knocked out as soon as the anesthesia kicked in. My doctor and I originally discussed a range between 275cc-310cc and he ended up being able to fit 330cc, which I was VERY happy to hear! My stats again are 5ft5in, 128lbs, slim build. I was a 32/34B prior to my procedure and was aiming for a full C! I got Natrelle Soft Touch Moderate Plus. I woke up around 11a and was very groggy, not too sore, but my throat was sore from the tube and my mouth was super dry. I have some water and goldfish then was out by 12p. It was about a hour drive home and slowly the anesthesia started to wear off so I could feel the pain and discomfort more. I hadnt taken my anti nausea meds yet so about 10 mins from home I started to immediately feel like I was going to be sick. Thankfully my mom grabbed my meds right before I let loose. Upon arrival at home she picked up 800mg prescription iBuprofen which my doctor prescribed for pain. I fell asleep pretty quickly only waking up to take pain meds. After surgery I was able to lift my arms over my head, and do so every hour for stretching of the muscles. I also went out for a quick walk with my partner and sister with no complications. Finally showered which was a little painful but manageable. Updated on 13 Apr 2023: I guess technically this would be day 1 po but messed it up in my last post lol. I’m sharing some more photos in natural light ???? I woke up with a lot of tightness today and pain. Unnaturally Im was up at 5a which I NEVER willingly do. I guess it was the discomfort, but made myself a breakfast took my meds and an 800mg iBuprofen to ease my soreness. Also sharing a photo of my bed setup since I havent seen anyone here do that to my knowledge. I hope maybe it helps some people. I have 5 pillows behind my head/back in an elevated position, with two firm pillows on the sides to prevent me from rolling over in my sleep. Also wearing a neck pillow for support. I have mild scoliosis and this resulted in no back pain and was much more comfy than I imagined! Updated on 14 Apr 2023: Forgot to share my before photos here! I was a 32/34B. Updated on 17 Apr 2023: So far so good. I had my check up on Friday and all that was said was that I was little more swollen than usual so Ive been icing a lot more since then. I think Day 3/4 was the worst due to extreme tightness. I felt like I was going to bust lol. Most pain is gone minus my incision sites and Im still pretty numb in each breast. Only discomfort is tightness! These feel and look a lot bigger than what I expected but no complaining ha. Theyve also softened slightly in the past 5 days. Updated on 28 Apr 2023: So far so good. Some minor shooting pains here and there as the nerves connect back together. I almost have full feeling back around each breast. Nipples are beyond sore from wearing a bra and just being hypersensitive in general. My left breast (right in photo) is slightly larger than my right (left in photo) but hoping that evens out with D&F! Updated on 17 May 2023: They are so much softer and dropping more each day! I fit into S tops just perfectly. Updated on 30 May 2023: They’re doing exactly what I wanted them to do in these tops! I still try to squeeze into size S tops but sometimes need a M Updated on 27 Jun 2023: Updated on 25 Sep 2023:
I had liposuction of the abdomen, flanks and back with fat transfer to my buttocks three weeks ago, with Dr. Epstein and I was absolutely amazed with the results. From the moment I went in for a consultation to my post op visit last week, the Doctor and entire staff was great. Dr. Epstein gave me back not only the body I once had but also my confidence. He is a true artist!!! He understands a woman’s figure and I am happy to say that the procedure was not only a success but totally painless, I was up and about the same day. Thank you, Dr. Epstein and staff, for going above and beyond to make my wishes come true.
The staff at Dr. Epstein's office is excellent! I made the decision to have PRP hair injections at Dr. Epstein's clinic after reading reviews and viewing images of this cutting-edge facility. Janet, a physician's assistant, saw me and provided the best treatment possible. She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. I saw improvements and less hair shedding immediately after my first session. I appreciate your help, Dr. Epstein and Janet, and I look forward to continuing my care with you.
I recently underwent a revision breast implant surgery with Dr. Epstein. I had been nervous about undergoing this procedure, since I had a few other revisions in the past and my recovery and experience were not ideal. I have to say that it was a completely different experience this time with Dr. Epstein. I am only a couple of weeks post op and already I feel and look great. I read about his 24 hour recovery and was somewhat hesitant about that being the case. But I can assure you that was definitely the case with my surgery. 24 hours post op I was feeling very little pain and only some minor discomfort, and went for a nice leisurely walk in my community. I was very diligent in following all the instructions given to me post op, and it paid off. Dr. Epstein and his staff were so professional and caring, and I would highly recommend him. I also have to mention that I was very anxious to wake up from the anesthesia during recovery as a result of bad experiences in the past. I shared this with his staff and I can assure you that they went out of their way to provide me with a calming experience. Kudos to Dr. Epstein and his staff!!
I can’t say enough positive things about my experience. I had a breast reduction and lift. And it has been completely life changing. If you’re thinking about it, do it and go to Dr Mark Epstein. From my consultation to my pre op, my surgery, and post op everything went so smoothly. My recovery was a 24 hour recovery I woke up from surgery and was able to raise my arms. Little to no pain just needed to take meds for the nerves and Tylenol and antibiotic. My breasts are so beautiful! I can wear a sports bra comfortably, they are perky, even and a beautiful shape. I was a size G before my surgery and I don’t know what size I am now because I’m still healing but I expressed that I still wanted full sized breast and didn’t want to go too small. Being on the same page as Dr. Epstein made me feel so comfortable and excited. The day after my surgery Dr. Epstein was traveling and wasn’t there for my post op. He did have another surgeon that would be available for me if needed. Knowing that I wouldn’t be left in the dark in case I had an emergency put my mind at ease. He also called me during the weekend to check in on my recovery. Great bedside manner, beautiful technique, brilliant surgeon. Amazing staff and lovely nurses.
Hi there, yes you should get the microchip formally known as Q Inside Safety Technology, or Qid. Qid does not have any personal information and only carries the information about your implant. Should you need to replace them and do not go to the original doctor, they can scan over your breasts if you do not have your records and do not remember the size.
Based on your photos it looks like you may need a labiaplasty, as well as a lateral hood reduction to reduce the amount of skin and a hood elevation to elevate the hood. My final recommendation pending a physical exam and consultation.
This is where Bellafil does well. I recommend Bellafil for patients who have already had HA (Hyslauronic acid) fillers and want something longer lasting. If you have never had a filler injected, you may do better with one of the shorter lasting fillers (1 yr or so) and see if you like the result. If you do, then move to Bellafil. Bellafil cannot be easily removed, do you want to make sure that you will be comfortable with the results.
the physicians below addressed this pretty well. I have not been particularly impressed with the results that I saw from laser resurfacing of the skin for acne scarring. For the "rolling" type of acne scars - wide, faint gradual borders, Bellafil works nicely. It is not for punctate, "ice pick" scars. Bellafil restores volume whereas a laser does not.
From the photo you submitted, it looks like there is a volume defect, not a wrinkle due to muscle movement. This is why Botox did not work. You need to add volume, and most fillers will work. I would suggest trying a HA (hyaluronic filler) first, to make sure you like the result. Then, when the HA wears off, you can use Bellafil. My suggestion is to make sure that you get the correction you want, because Bellafil will last for several years, and if you are not happy, you will be stuck, because you cannot dissolve it. I love Bellafil, but discretion must be had when using it for matters that are not usual and routine. Just my opinion.
