Dr. Ken Anderson has been amazing through my entire hair journey. I first stumble upon him when I was researching board certified hair transplant surgeons in the United States and I was astounded by his education and career history. When I first met him earlier this year back in January, he addressed all the questions I had and worries I had. He was straightforward and honest. Fast forward to July 2025, he performed my FUT surgery. I was very anxious and nervous. The experience was painless and I am confident he has restored my confidence within myself. The pre op and post op instructions are easy to follow. The surgical team periodically will call to check on you. Overall wonderful experience.
Well, where to begin. I’ve been self conscious for years about my substantial and continued hair loss. I’ve tried numerous shampoo and topical products with little success. I did notice a reduction in hair loss when I used a minoxidil and finesteride combination product but discontinued use when I didn’t notice any additional growth. My only choice at that point was to research hair transplant surgery and weigh the pros and cons. It appeared that the pros greatly outweighed the cons. During my research I combed (pun intended) the internet for the most recommended clinics along with reading reviews of clinics of interest. I even looked into some clinics in Turkey, the supposed capital of hair replacement surgery. I quickly dismissed this option due to my concern of having the procedure done over seas and not being able to head back to the clinic if issues arose. Also, the lower cost didn’t sway my concerns since the procedure was such an important life event. I narrowed down my search for a reputable and highly sought after clinic and before long I got the “warm fuzzy” feeling about one clinic in particular, The Anderson Center for Hair. After making my decision about Dr. Anderson I did substantial research on his education, training, teaching and amazing accolades and awards he has received over the years. I truly felt that I would be in good hands and had made the right choice. I decided to setup an initial consultation with Dr. Ken Anderson in his Alpharetta location. The consultation started out with a 30 minute discussion with Matt Longshore who couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and caring. He was also very responsive via text and email before and after our initial meeting. After 30 minutes or so Dr. Anderson came in and we spoke for another 30 minutes. He asked about my wants and needs as well as expectations. His attention to detail about what to expect was very helpful in setting my goals and comfort level. Dr. Anderson went into detail about the science behind hair growth and the subsequent hair loss. At this point I was ready to set my appointment and get ready for this new journey. I arrived at the Alpharetta clinic at 7am and after a few administrative details we were off. The medical staff made me extremely comfortable from the start and with Dr. Andersons amazing music playlist coming from the ceiling speakers I felt like I was hanging out in my living room (maybe a slight exaggeration). Nonetheless, with the administration of numbing as well as anti-anxiety meds the procedure began. I did have a substantial number of grafts implanted so it was an all day procedure but because I was kept comfortable It was over before I knew it. Dr. Anderson and his staff are very well coordinated in the process. Afterwards I was prepped and ready to go home with my goodie bag of meds, healing items and instructions. I came back to the office the next morning for a quick scalp wash, inspection by Dr. Anderson and additional set of care instructions. It's now been 8 days since my procedure and all seems to be going as planned. A representative called me yesterday to check on me and answer any questions that I had. Obviously my journey has just begun but I have to admit that my due diligence paid off and selecting Dr. Anderson and his clinic will certainly bring success for my goal of a more youthful look and the confidence that will bring. Thank you Dr. Ken Anderson and staff.
I had my first FUT performed by Dr. Anderson at the Alpharetta location in 2019 due to moderate/severe hair loss on the top of my head. At the time, my crown didn’t need to be addressed. I most recently had two more procedures (FUT and FUE in June 2025) done by Dr. Anderson to address the top again (the only hairs that were standing were the ones he transplanted originally – otherwise, I would’ve been bald on top) and the crown. My alopecia gene is strong even though I did regular maintenance (minoxidil, laser cap, PRP). The FUT was performed on a Thursday and the FUE was the next day (Friday). I was a little concerned about the trauma done to my head on back to back days, but he and is office answered any questions I had. My crown area and the top were both addressed on these days. I am currently 8 days post op with no pain whatsoever from the incision, donor sites from FUE, or from the graft placement. Dr. Anderson provides a protocol explaining everything in simple language on how to care for the grafts post-surgery. My incision is one of the best looking surgical incisions I have laid eyes on – I am in the healthcare field, and I see a lot myself…it is barely noticeable even after my entire head was shaved very short to allow for a more successful surgery. The staff in the office are very accommodating as well. Lunch was provided both days from Jersey Mikes. His office (including himself) has called me a total of 4x to check on me since I had the surgeries. I could not recommend Dr. Anderson and his team enough. Anybody that knows me knows that I research everything, and I only choose the best. I spent hours researching surgeons in 2019 before I landed on Dr. Anderson – it doesn’t get any better than this triple board certified, artistic, compassionate, and highly skilled surgeon! I’d recommend him a million times over, and I gladly drove 4+ hours both times to ensure I got the best care available.
I recently underwent an FUE procedure with Dr. Anderson and his team, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. As someone who came into this process with little knowledge about hair restoration, I was initially overwhelmed, but Dr. Anderson’s team took the time to educate me thoroughly. They patiently addressed every question and concern I had, no matter how small, making me feel supported and informed every step of the way. Their professionalism and genuine care put me at ease, and I felt confident in their expertise. The procedure itself went smoothly, and the recovery timeline they provided was spot-on. Everything unfolded exactly as they outlined, which gave me peace of mind during the healing process. While I’m still waiting to see the final results, I’m already in a great place mentally and physically, thanks to the care I received. Dr. Anderson’s attention to detail and the team’s commitment to patient satisfaction truly set them apart. I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering an FUE procedure—well done!
I had my second procedure at Anderson Center for hair Alpharetta, GA in March 2025. First procedure was at the same location in 2020. The reason I wanted a second was to get thicker hair as the first procedure was a success and that hair is still holding strong. The staff is always amazing and helps limiting the anxiousness of having the procedure performed. The 2nd procedure was just a smooth as the first. With both procedures I went with the FUE procedure and the procedure seemed quick and painless. Recovery was smooth as long as you follow the step by step instructions that are provided by the Anderson Center for Hair team. They check in often during recovery and are always available if you have any questions. I couldn’t recommend them enough for a procedure, as the results always look great. Most people don’t know I had a procedure unless I tell them, given the look/result is very natural looking. I hope this review helps with reducing anyone’s anxiety about having this done. I highly recommend anyone interested to set up a consultation with the Anderson Hair Center team to get further details. They will treat you great and you will have a great result if you decide to go through with it.
After extensive research and consultations on hair restoration surgery, I chose Anderson Hair Clinic in Alpharetta, Georgia, and I’m genuinely glad I did. From the first consultation to the final follow-up, my experience was outstanding, thanks to him and his amazing team. The office is professional, clean, and welcoming. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient, setting a positive tone. The surgical team was exceptional—professional, attentive, and friendly. Prior to the procedure, they introduced themselves and took time to answer my last-minute questions, calming my nerves. During the surgery, they noticed my slightest movements, pausing to ensure my comfort, which I deeply appreciated. I spent much time talking with Dr. Anderson, as did my wife, and his passion for hair transplants is evident. He’s highly skilled and has an artistic eye for detail. During my consultation, he thoroughly explained options, shared before-and-after photos, and recommended Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) for my case, while noting other available techniques. The procedure was seamless, with minimal discomfort, thanks to Dr Anderson and his team’s care and precision. They explained each step, and aftercare instructions were clear. The clinic followed up multiple times, making me feel supported. I am four weeks post procedure and I am very excited to see the results over the next few months. After the surgery, you get a glimpse of the potential (although full results are after a year) and my hairline is going to look more natural and denser than I had hoped for. Most importantly, it doesn’t look like I’ve had any procedure done. It's probably the only image change that you want that you hope no one notices, lol. I highly recommend Anderson Hair Clinic for their expertise and compassionate care. LB
When I was originally considering having a hair procedure for my thinning/receding hair, I was very nervous and skeptical. Seemingly the only information I could find online was nightmare scenarios of people that had bad experiences... but then my friend's dad told me about his experience with hair transplant procedures and his only feedback was "I wish I had done it sooner, it changed my life". So I eventually decided to get my first hair transplant (FUT Procedure) at the Anderson Hair Center in 2021, and the process was smooth, recovery easy, and a few months after the procedure my hair looked fantastic, and my self confidence was through the roof. Fast forward to 2025, and I decided to get a second procedure because of how happy I was with improvement of the first one (I wanted a second one to make it even more perfect if you will even though the first one did wonders for me), and this time Dr. Anderson performed an FUE procedure, and yet again, I am thrilled with the experience and immediately happy with my decision. My experience with Dr. Anderson has been nothing short of phenomenal. You can tell he isn't one of those doctors that just goes through the motions with his patients to get the job done and get paid. Instead he legitimately cares about being excellent at his craft and helping his patients achieve their hair goals. From the initial conversations, to the evaluation, to the day of the procedure... at each step I felt like the doctor and his team listened to me and acted in my best interest and made sure that I was going to get the best results possible. Similar to the advice I got before my procedure, I will give the same feedback to anyone considering a procedure with the Anderson Hair Center... I only wish I did it sooner. No more worrying about wearing hats or whether my hair is combed just right to minimize the appearance of thinning spots. Now I just go out into the world with full confidence and not having a second thought about my hair, just like when I was 20 years old. The truth is these hair procedures have come a long way and the science has been perfected, and Dr. Anderson is one of the best in the world at performing the procedures. If you're self conscious about your thinning/receding hair, don't overthink it, this solution works, plain and simple.
After having my first FUE procedure with Dr. Anderson, I honestly didn’t think the experience could get any better — but this second time exceeded all expectations. Not only did I receive the same world-class care and artistry, but this time around I was able to keep my existing hair unshaved, which made the recovery incredibly discreet and easy. Within a week, no one could tell anything had been done. That alone was a total game-changer. Walking into Dr. Anderson’s office again, I felt an even deeper trust — I already knew the level of precision, integrity, and artistry he brings to his work. But this time, I was able to notice even more: the small, thoughtful refinements in technique, the individualized approach, and the attention to aesthetic detail that truly separates him from the rest. He doesn’t just restore hair — he restores confidence, subtly and naturally. The no-shave technique was remarkable. I was fully expecting to need to hide out for a few weeks like I did the first time, but that wasn’t the case. There was minimal redness, and everything was so carefully placed and blended that even I could hardly see it after just a few days. I returned to my normal routine almost immediately, which was hugely important for me professionally. What continues to impress me is Dr. Anderson’s artistry. My new hairline is soft, natural, and totally unique to me. It doesn’t look like a “procedure” — it looks like me, only better. And I know how difficult it is to achieve that kind of result. Once again, he used a strategic mix of graft sizes, placed with surgical precision for the most realistic effect. The irregularity and flow of the hairline is so human — it's what separates art from formula. The recovery was not only fast but incredibly smooth thanks to Dr. Anderson’s team. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel comfortable, informed, and supported. They even offered to help clean and care for the grafts post-op, which meant so much the first time — and still does. Their kindness, calm energy, and professionalism make a big difference during a procedure that, frankly, requires a lot of trust. If you’re considering FUE surgery, there’s no one else I would recommend. Do your research — really do it — and you’ll come to the same conclusion I did: Dr. Anderson sets the standard, trains others to meet it, and still surpasses it himself. I’m so glad I waited and did this the right way. The second time was even more rewarding than the first, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience or the results. Thank you again, Dr. Anderson — truly. Here is a photo one week after surgery - 1772 grafts primarily in hairline.
This is a long-term review of Dr. Ken Anderson. I had my hair transplant procedure with him back when he practiced in Beverly Hills in September of 2004. The results were terrific. It’s been over 20 years, so I don’t remember much of the details about that day, but one thing has stuck with me all these years. On that day in 2004 I was talking with one of the surgical technicians that was working with Dr. Anderson. She had worked with many different doctors over the years, and she made some comments about Dr. Anderson. She explained to me that since Dr. Ken Anderson was a board-certified plastic surgeon, he took twice as long as other doctors to harvest the FUT strip and perform the closure (ie: close the wound with stitches…I had a linear procedure…FUE didn’t really exist at that time). She told me that Dr. Anderson paid a lot of attention to the little details, and performed the best FUT strip removal and closures of any doctor that she had worked with in her career. She said that, in her opinion, other doctors took less care, because they knew that in the end the scar would be covered by hair anyway. What I have learned/observed is that artists and craftsmen who pay a great deal of attention to the details will produce a better product, and that’s who Dr. Anderson is. It’s been over two decades and I’m still very happy with the results of my surgery. If I were approached by someone with questions about this procedure, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ken, even though it would involve a cross-country flight from California.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr Anderson, Matt and the whole staff. They went above and beyond my expectations. I had ALL my questions answered and I felt very confident in my decision to go to Dr Anderson in Georgia. I am two months out and I am seeing great results. Recovery and down time was not bad at all. I can’t say enough about the staff the day of my procedure. They were very kind and helpful. If I had to do this over I would go back to Dr Anderson again. The best thing is he is easily available on the phone for any follow ups.
Hello and thank you for posting this question. The simple answer is that it's not possible to tell because your hair is dry and we are not able to see the extent of the thinning. As presented it could be as little as 400 grafts, or as much as 1200 grafts, depending on how much actual loss is present. I hope this information is helpful to you. Kind Regards, Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRS Board Certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery
Thank you for posting this question. The short answer is that if you don't have hair loss, you don't need to be using Rogaine. I'm not certain why you started in the first place since you say you don't have any hair loss. Rogaine is used to treat male- and female-pattern hair loss, it is not indicated to attempt to lower a hairline in a person without male- or female-pattern hair loss. I hope this information is helpful to you.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
We ask our patients to continue using finasteride before and after their surgery date, taking it as normal. I don't feel there is a need to stop the medication for the procedure. I hope this information is helpful to you.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
Thank you for posting this question. The short answer is yes, of course you can perform an FUE surgery without shaving down the recipient area. It's called a "long hair FUE" and it is helpful for people who don't want to have to trim down all of their hair as it might be a disruption to their lifestyle or work. And don't worry; you're not going to make a hairline look unnatural with too much density...it's the linear nature of a hairline that looks unnatural, not hair that is "too dense" as that's not really possible unless a surgeon is using plugs, which went out of fashion last century. I hope this information is helpful to you.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
Thank you for posting this question. The simple fact is that your hair has not had enough time to fully grow in. I would wait until at least 10 months before considering the look to be "final" and all the hairs to have grown in. So, I would give it another 5 months and then meet with your surgeon if you're not happy with the density.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
