$5,005Breast Fat Transfer

emily9333

Mostly Positive; Affordable Pricing

I underwent a breast fat transfer with Dr. Kara and his team to correct a one cup size asymmetry, approximately 5 months ago now. Experience: My experience was mostly pleasant, Dr. Kara has consultants who assist you in choosing which surgery is right for you (almost a sales person role). I met with the Dr. once before surgery, and he was sure to keep me very realistic about my expectations and identified several other methods that might be appropriate. Ultimately I went with the procedure I had been researching for a number of years. In terms of pricing, because I was having the fat transfer to only one breast, I received a $2000 discount which was great. Compared to three other surgeons in the GTA, Dr. Kara was the most affordable. Surgery: Surgery day was stressful for me, as my procedure was delayed by about two hours, but no one contacted me to tell me this. Due to COVID, I had to enter the hospital alone. I tried calling the office but my surgery was scheduled on a Saturday, so no one answered. Basically I was left in limbo very nervous about going under the knife for the first time. That said -- once I was in and with the medical team, everyone was fantastic, so professional, and made me feel very much at ease. I woke up in the recovery room and had the kindest nurse ever there to support me. Results: Recovery was not bad at all! Really it was the lipo that was much more invasive than the fat transfer, there was a lot of leakage the first couple nights (as I was warned by the clinic.) I was out walking my dog again by day 4 -- that being said I'm in my 20s so I'm sure this would be different for everyone. After a month of wearing a compression garment, my results were definitely becoming visible. At the 5 month mark, my breasts are similar in volume, but the smaller one doesn't have the same projection as my natural, larger breast. Dr. Kara was sure to warn me about this, and I'm ok with it as implants were not really an option I was interested in. If I had all the money in the world I would probably undergo this procedure a second time, but as of now I'm pleased enough with the results. I would say I'm slightly less pleased with the lipo. It's fantastic to have gone down a few waist sizes, but I do feel like it looks like I've had lipo -- what I mean by this is that areas that naturally have fatty deposits (like the spot right under the belly button where most women have a little lump) is now concave. I was hoping that the fat distribution would still look proportionate, and while no one will notice this on me clothed, it is something I see every time I'm naked now. Perhaps this wouldn't bother most people, but something to keep in mind/discuss with your doctor. I didn't really get a chance to discuss my lipo goals with Dr. Kara as we were very much focused on improving the breast asymmetry, so if you're undergoing this procedure it's definitely something to think about. My scars are tidy and minimal. Bonus: if you have surgery with Dr. Kara, you're eligible for a free laser scar treatment at one of his clinics, which I have yet to do due to COVID.

Breast augmentation, 535CC, under muscle with Dr. Kara

I've wanted my boobs done for 2 years now, and with the pandemic and all I decided you know what?! I might as well do it. I visited a few surgeons but I was drawn to Dr. Kara because of his bedside manners. He's so smiley and sweet and his work looked like what I wanted. I researched him and watched his YouTube and IG pages to see his work. The consultation went good, and I paid my deposit same day. Updated on 30 Nov 2020: The surgery was successful thank God! Dr Kara is the cutest he made a little video explaining how the surgery went and It was so personable it was a nice touch for sure. So far so good!! I’m able to do a lot more by myself now still can’t open doors or the cap for my medication but I’m happy I can at least do a few things by myself. The implants are still sitting high but it’s beginning to take shape I was scared at first I went too small because it was so swollen it had no shape but now I can see the shape and I’m happy how it suits my frame. The swelling is still there in my clavicle but I know that’ll take some time and I’m in no rush. I had a phone follow up and there wasn’t much to report until my in person follow up in two weeks. My areola stretched out a bit but I kind of dig it lol p.s bloating is REAL! I look like 15 pounds heavier omg. Medication: I hateee how much drugs I’m putting in my body but I know it’s for the best I just hate how dizzy and tired I always feel. I can barely stand for too long until I need to rest my back so thankful I don’t have to work. Definitely take at least a week or 2 off work because the medication has some crazy side effects. So far loving the journey I’m in no rush I’m just praying for a smooth healing and can’t wait to see how my babies settle in. Updated on 30 Nov 2020: Also omg the 24 hour breast augmentation is the truth!! I loveee how beautiful my skin looks I had no bruising which I’m thankful for because I have very sensitive skin and I was worried I’d be bruised up bad. I can’t wait to see what my incision looks like, I’m using baby oil to keep my skin moisturized while avoiding the incision of course. I was also able to move my hands freely and stretch butttttt I needed more than 24 hours to recover from the pain lol it feels like you did a 1000 push-ups or let an elephant sit on your chest lol. That pressure is intense. Also you use your pec muscle wayy more than you realize wow, I needed a caretaker for the first 3 days for sure. Couldn’t even open the fridge the first two days lol Updated on 14 Dec 2020: I’m back to normal, moving and doing essentially everything by myself now. I have my energy back and I’m completely off medications. Waiting for the boobs to settle because they’re so high now, the right one seems to be settling faster then the left but that’s normal. My scar is healing normal it’s a thin line I’m not really worried much about it. I’m back to sleeping on my side I wake up and find that I rolled to the side and it doesn’t hurt so that’s a lot better than sleeping on my back Updated on 31 Dec 2020: They’re healing amazing! Back to regular programming, my scar is healing great it’s a thin line and I’m using Shea butter to prevent stretch marks, I still have some but oh well I’m prone to stretch marks naturally because of my skin type. My right boob is dropping faster, I can’t wait for the left to catch up lol. I’ll be back with a 3 month update, no complaints for now Updated on 19 Jan 2021:

Breast Implant Removal

Explant After 9 Years, Under Muscle 371silicone - 1 Child Breastfed

I'm 31 years old. 5'6 feet 135 pounds. Breast fed one child. I wanted to get my implants removed for a while now. Nothing was seriously wrong. Slight discomfort on right breast which I found out from the ultrasound was a small cyst potentially due to a clogged duct I had when I breastfed.  Disliked stomach sleeping, really hated chest exercises when working out, I enjoy running but always needed a heavy duty sports bra because there always seemed to be discomfort after with all the bouncing. I had a small rash on sides of breasts that never bothered me but showed up about 2 years ago and never went away. Also I am not into the look anymore, I find I like the natural look much more.  Dr. Kara was very professional and answered all of my questions. I felt very comfortable with him and I know other women who went to him for breast augmentation and really liked him.  I had my surgery today and these pictures are pre op and about 4 hours post op. I will post more photos in the coming days. So far I really like how they look ! I know they will change a bit in the coming months. Immediately after surgery I felt good, no pain. I don't have drains or wraps just my tight surgical bra and steristrips. I took a 2 hour nap once I arrived home and I experienced nausea/faint like symptoms which seems to be the case every time after I have anesthesia. Now at the moment about 8 hours post op I feel groggy and tired. Haven't needed any pain medication yet. Just feels like I did a chest workout. Updated on 29 Nov 2020: First 2 days after surgery were uncomfortable. I don’t feel pain it’s more discomfort. I’ve only taken pain medication twice though so it’s not unbearable. I have very little swelling, some in my cleavage area and on my ribs. I don’t enjoy the feeling of them out of the tight sports bra, hard to explain but it feels empty. I had a reaction to the antibiotics- rash on face, neck and chest but they switched antibiotics the next day for me and I’m all good now. My left incision steristrip is loose but underneath seems ok, just have to clean it twice daily and make sure it stays dry. I will add more photos soon! Trying to figure out how to scrub off the marker :P Updated on 30 Nov 2020: Feeling good today, still uncomfortable/tender but much improvement. I have a 16 month old and I just started feeling comfortable enough to pick him up for very short periods of time. Luckily I’ve had my husband and family here to help out. Updated on 10 Dec 2020: Feeling good but I have tenderness in the muscles still. I’m happy with how they look ! It seems like they have already filled out a little bit. I’m still wearing the tight sports bra which I’m comfortable with anyways. I have sensation back in areas that I didn’t have while the implants were in, like my nipples and under boob area. My right breast seems to point down a little but if I remember correctly it did before implants too.

It's about time! I decided to go with 335 HP

Hello ladies! I've FINALLY decided to take action during this work from home period and get my boobies done!! :D I've been hiding behind bombshell bras all my life and i'm sick and tired of wishing I had boobs. For reference, I wear a 32A but I barely fit into it. I've been a skinny girl all my life but started weight lifting about 2 years ago and was able to build some leg muscles!! I am in love with my proportions now... but sadly boobs cannot be made at the gym. I just went into my second consultation today and finalized all the paperwork. My BA is set to be in 10 days!! I'm SO excited and hope for amazing results. I decided to go with 335 HP cc to give me more of a natural bust while still being able to show them off when I want ;) My dimensions: - height: 5'4 - weight: 110 Updated on 15 Jul 2020: I had my BA on July 13th (day after my 25th bday haha) and i couldn’t be happier! The day before I was super nervous, as i’ve never had any type of surgery before and wanted to do everything I possibly could to ensure a smooth recovery. The hardest part for me was probably taking the tablets (i hate tablets) but was able to get that over with. Once I arrived inside the suite, it was all excitement from there! Everyone was super sweet and assuring. Just like the other reviews say, once the sedation hits you knock out like a light!! The surgery was overall 35-45 minutes and I woke up in the recovery room about an hour later. A nurse was by my side to assist and ensure I was ready to be discharged.   I’m really happy I went with Dr.Kara, the 24 hour recovery is real!! Once I arrived home I felt good and even went on a walk!   Overall I just feel pressure and tightness in my chest area but that’s about it. As of right now they look like cones!! LOL. Can’t wait to see how they change over time :) Updated on 29 Jul 2020: Hey Ladies, It’s been two weeks since my surgery and healing has been going well! The stiff and tight feeling have decreased tremendously and there has been zero pain thus far. There was about a two finger gap in the beginning but it’s now around 1 and a half. My left breast has also decreased in swelling faster than my right (probably because it was smaller to begin with). Sleeping upright hasn’t been as bad as I thought, considering I usually sleep on my tummy. I was also able to do an ab workout today with ease :)

So this morning (Tues.30/20-10am) I got my long awaited breast augmentation procure done!!! It all went so smooth like this was meant to be. Never been more nervous and anxious and excited In my life. To the point I couldn’t sleep or sit down and was very nauseous buuuutttt.... it was all worth it because they turned out better than I expected. Obviously swollen and stiff and very high but so gorgeous and full and great cleavage. I am over the moon about all of this. I know a lot of women get disappointed about their results right after the procedure because they will change shape as they heal but I can already see what a great job Dr. Kara did on my new ladies! So to prepare I quit smoking and stopped drinking a month before my surgery. I have been eating a well balanced healthy diet and taking supplements and lots of water. Also, I bought a Shefit sports bra in advance and I would honestly recommend this to anyone as a sports bra OR post-surgical bra. It is very comfortable and sturdy and adjustable and it’s a front zip. I’m going to need to purchase another one. Will be very useful for when I work out after I’m healed aswell. The pain is tolerable, just sore and more when I use my pecs or upper abs which is more than you’d expect. They feel very tight and swollen, and I can’t tell if it is difficult or just uncomfortable to take a deep breath but nothing crazy. All in all I am very happy and excited to continue taking care of my babies and documenting the healing process along the way. Also I would be happy to answer any questions about my experience to anyone that wants to know. I know this site soothed my anxiety and curiosity while I was planning out my procedure. Updated on 1 Jul 2020: My boobies look like torpedos and am kinda living for it. Embracing each step of recovery. I had a shower and went for a hike and napped a few times, would definitely recommend getting a neck pillow to help with sleeping sitting up. It’s super comfortable. My entire ribcage, chest, and sides feel super tight and claustrophobic but nothing unbearable. My boobs are still quite swollen and warm but I’ve been icing on and off regularly and taking all of my medications. Already squishier than yesterday. A little nauseous today. Not too bad. Updated on 5 Jul 2020: Already squishier. Still very high and nipples pointing low. So much roundness on top, not a lot underneath. Already stopped taking any Tylenol. They don’t hurt that much except for right underneath my left boob, almost behind the incision, feels like a pulled muscle and hurts whenever I move it a strange way. Also, the weirdest thing, when I touch the edge of the implant where the cleavage is on the top/inside of my right breast I feel a sharp poke on the inside of my shoulder. Like the nerves are somehow confused there. So strange. I’m trying to hide this from family so I told everyone I’m camping and have been stuffing months before surgery but I realized as soon as I hug someone they’re gonna tell. They’re so hard and pokey right now lol oh well Updated on 10 Jul 2020: So I had my surgery 11 days ago now. They’re dropping very slowly but we’re getting there. I’m really hoping my underboob fills out eventually ???? I’ve noticed now since I started moving more I’m having a lot of pain under my left breast where the incision is but only on the far left. It hurts when I move a certain way or accidentally touch it but it’s not a sharp pain it’s almost like a pulled muscle. And it’s not right on the incision, it’s a little deeper. Going to ask the doctor about it. Even the band of my sports bra hurts it. Hoping it goes away soon because my right boob barely hurts at all. Lastly, they’re getting squishier every day and I lay on them 15 mins a night and it actually feels good now, like it relieves the pressure. Also my nipples were completely numb after surgery but now they’re extremely sensitive, so sensitive it’s painful. Still slightly numb underneath them though. Still so worth it though :) Updated on 3 Aug 2020: They’re so much less sore. Way squishier. Still a little numb under the nipple and nipples very sensitive. Still VERY high and round on top though. Not sure if they will drop any more but I really hope they do. I really wanted higher looking nipples. Oh well. I do have mild pectus excavatum so there is some space between them. Was hoping the cleavage was a little closer but that’s just me being picky. They are nice and full now. I probably would’ve gone even bigger now that I see them but the nurse did say they won’t be at their final shape and everything until 6 months to a year. Thank gosh. Patience is key, I keep reminding myself that.

Such a Great Great Great Experience!

I had an amazing experience with the clinic. My initial consultation with Staci was amazing. She is very generous, caring and knowledgable. She helped me with deciding the best choice for my procedure. She was also very helpful in answering my questions after the initial consultation. The nurses and front desk staff are very friendly. Nurses are caring and friendly. Yolanda especially. She took good care of me the day of and after care. Always puts a smile on my face! Dr. Kara, he is a very soft spoken man and kind. Very trustworthy and knowledgable. I felt very reassured and safe doing my procedure with him. It was a great experience from top to bottom. Now, a year later, not only I am very satisfied with the results of my breast augmentation, I definitely will recommend the clinic to others!

I am very happy with the results! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Kara.

I had breast augmentation on Nov 26th and couldn't be more pleased with the results. From the beginning Dr. Kara's staff have been knowledgeable, helpful and kind...not only the day of the surgery but the pre and post appointments as well. Recovery was much easier than I expected and the scars are already minimal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Kara.

I was super confident in leaving my trust with these amazing people

I went to Dr Kara at the end of May to have a consultation regarding the mommy make over. I was paired with a consultant and Zehra who took the time to go over all my options and explain everything 100%. We decided along with Dr Kara a plan for the things I wished to have done. I had some struggles with losing weight and getting my hemoglobin up but the staff including Shelby, the OR team and nurses were super encouraging. I had my surgery done on December 29. Jason the OR manager is very nice and was very supportive of my progress. Dr Mcluskey they Anesthesiologist is very intelligent and definitely knows his stuff. I was super confident in my decision coming to Dr Kara before, but after meeting with the rest of the team in Scarborough and Samantha in the Toronto office I was super confident times a million in leaving my trust with these amazing people! They truly do amazing things. And they are loving people that only look out for your health and safety.

With Dr. Kara, the 24 HOUR RECOVERY IS REAL!!!!

I would like to start by saying THANK YOU Dr. Kara for giving me my confidence and my self esteem back. I lost my self in 2013 when I had two car accidents and since then I have been dealing with a lot of medical conditions. Never believed that I would see the end of the tunnel, until I met you. I had my breast augmentation done December 22nd and I have to say that 24 Hour Recovery is REAL. The surgery it self was quick, I woke up pain free and the minute I looked at my breast..... I had tears of joy. I stayed in the recovery room for a short period of time and was released as soon as the nurse and the doctor made sure I was good to go. I have to mention that I came from Niagara Falls and the drive back home was just fine. Since the surgery I was taking Acetaminophen to control the pain (NOT NARCOTICS) and the pain was exactly as Dr. Kara explained. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t even describe it as pain, it’s only the pressure and tightness that I am feeling. Today, only two days after the surgery I stopped all of the medication and I am feeling great. I am able to do everything as normal, however I am following restrictions provided by Dr. Kara. Dr. Kara is in my opinion ( and I have met numerous doctors) by far the most caring, understanding, professional doctor I have met. Having said this, Dr. Kara has an extraordinary team of people working with him and they also play a huge role in each of the experiences. I have mostly dealt with Jade and Charlene...... Two wonderful ladies. Very helpful, always happy to answer any questions and made me feel at home. Jade and Charlene Thank You!! The OR team was wonderful and made me feel at ease..... I had no fear at all. Exceptional team !!!! I am so happy that I met Dr. Kara and his wonderful team. Most of all, I would highly recommend Dr. Kara to everyone out there looking to get great results and exactly what they are looking for. Dr. Kara is a great listener and does not push you into doing something that he feels you should be. He may tell you his advice, but at the end it is you who decides what you want done and the look you would like to achieve. He would never do anything that he knows is unrealistic. Dr. Kara is amazing and when he says 24 Hour Recovery...... BELIEVE HIM. My friends can not even believe how well I am recovering and that I am not in bed screaming in pain. I went out to the store, I am doing light chores around the house and I am not in pain. I can’t wait for NYE to celebrate my new beginning !! Once again..... THANK YOU !!!! Updated on 6 Nov 2020: Very unhappy and disappointed. Have been addressing the issue with the doctors office since the beginning. Now I am being told to leave it the way it is , or pay again to have POSSIBLE improvements with scary risks. Not happy.....
