Explant After 9 Years, Under Muscle 371silicone - 1 Child Breastfed

WORTH IT
I'm 31 years old. 5'6 feet 135 pounds. Breast fed one child.
I wanted to get my implants removed for a while now. Nothing was seriously wrong. Slight discomfort on right breast which I found out from the ultrasound was a small cyst potentially due to a clogged duct I had when I breastfed.
Disliked stomach sleeping, really hated chest exercises when working out, I enjoy running but always needed a heavy duty sports bra because there always seemed to be discomfort after with all the bouncing. I had a small rash on sides of breasts that never bothered me but showed up about 2 years ago and never went away. Also I am not into the look anymore, I find I like the natural look much more.
Dr. Kara was very professional and answered all of my questions. I felt very comfortable with him and I know other women who went to him for breast augmentation and really liked him.
I had my surgery today and these pictures are pre op and about 4 hours post op. I will post more photos in the coming days. So far I really like how they look ! I know they will change a bit in the coming months.
Immediately after surgery I felt good, no pain. I don't have drains or wraps just my tight surgical bra and steristrips. I took a 2 hour nap once I arrived home and I experienced nausea/faint like symptoms which seems to be the case every time after I have anesthesia. Now at the moment about 8 hours post op I feel groggy and tired. Haven't needed any pain medication yet. Just feels like I did a chest workout.

Please post your progress. I think you look great. Am considering removal. How many years between your BA and removal ?
November 28, 2020
Thank you ! 9 years, I had the BA in 2011. I will definitely continue to post the progress.

You look fantastic! And I totally agree about the natural look, much nicer. I am planning to explant early next year, I also have implants under the muscle, no BII issues and wonder about leaving the capsule or not. Did you remove your capsule? I'm thinking that leaving it will make the procedure and healing process much easier but I also wonder if leaving it will affect the chest muscle. Some surgeons say leave the caosule, some say remove it.

Thank you ! My capsule was very thin, but the doctor said he would wash and clean out the pockets completely. I will ask him at the post op appointment if he was able to remove all or some of the capsule. It’s like I can feel where he cleaned the pocket, I feel tenderness all the way up near my collar bone and under my armpits on my ribs

Thank you for answering! Apparently my capsule is very thin too, like "wet toilet paper", and my surgeon says it will do more harm than good to scrape it off my ribs and my chest muscle.
Hope your tenderness will fade soon and that you feel healed and whole again <3

Amazing gorgeous results! So stunning and a perfect decision. Considering doing the same. Question... did you need muscle repair? Do you issues when you flex your breast muscle with distortion? And did you have distortion when flexing when you had the implant in?
January 16, 2021
Thank you !! Actually I’m noticing the muscle distortion at the moment. I will post more pictures with it when I’m flexing. I had it slightly with implants in as well, I didn't have any muscle repair during surgery. I brought this up to my doctor at the post op appointment and he mentioned massage/time helps it reduce. I was going to look into other women who have had this, I’m not sure if it will completely go away.. might be something I’m left with after having implants unfortunately ugh.

You look gorgeous. I will be praying for you and that the muscle returns to correct function. There are doctors who are more experienced in muscle repair and as our community becomes more engaged and informed doctors will need to improve their knowledge and skills in this area. Dr Cassileth in Beverly Hills seems to be well versed in muscle distortion repair after explant. I hope the muscle returns to correct function on its own and you do not need another surgery as you look so good and the body is miraculous in healing. Please keep us posted on your results with this

First 2 days after surgery were uncomfortable. I don’t feel pain it’s more discomfort. I’ve only taken pain medication twice though so it’s not unbearable. I have very little swelling, some in my cleavage area and on my ribs. I don’t enjoy the feeling of them out of the tight sports bra, hard to explain but it feels empty.
I had a reaction to the antibiotics- rash on face, neck and chest but they switched antibiotics the next day for me and I’m all good now.
My left incision steristrip is loose but underneath seems ok, just have to clean it twice daily and make sure it stays dry.
I will add more photos soon! Trying to figure out how to scrub off the marker :P

Feeling good today, still uncomfortable/tender but much improvement. I have a 16 month old and I just started feeling comfortable enough to pick him up for very short periods of time. Luckily I’ve had my husband and family here to help out.

Did you have the capsules removed?
December 3, 2020
No, they were very thin. Just the pocket was thoroughly washed out.
