How does a surgeon get good results in aesthetic body contouring surgery? Firstly, they need to spend time with each patient getting to know them, exploring options, and educating them about their surgery; secondly, the surgery needs to be done carefully and artistically; and finally, the surgeon needs to personally look after his or her patients after surgery to deal with concerns and follow healing. Many practices delegate preop preparation and postop care to assistants. However, if I were the patient, I'm sure I would want to deal with my surgeon, and not a delegate. I do all my own preop teaching and preparation, and personally do all postop care. I believe that following these principles has allowed me to accumulate a very large experience in aesthetic body contouring surgery, which enhances my ability to deliver good, safe results to my patients and allows them to return quickly to their families.
