After seeing a number of doctors looking for the best treatment for a long term medical issue I had with my nose a doctor introduced me to Mr Woodford. Who form the first appointment made me feel at ease. He explained that I would need 3 or more operations and being a 21year old I was nervous and alittle scared but the way he spoke and explained things took away all my concerns. He talked me through every step and went over things a number of times so I could take in the information I needed. He was reassuring after each stage again going over things and answering even the basic of my questions. Every appointment I have had he has taken time to talk reassure me and even when I had my opperations he explain how things have gone and what we needed to do next. I have at times spoken also with his secretary who as been welcoming approachable and resolved my issues. Like changing appointments and answering questions I had. I am so happy with the outcome of my surgery that I would recommend him to anyone needing any form of nose surgery. All I can really say is thank you for giving me a chance to have a full life Mr Woodford.
After diagonally breaking my nose trying to run through a plate glass door and then undergoing an extremely painful NHS attempt to straighten it that didn't work, I researched 'the best nose surgeon' in the North West, my search led me to Mr Tim Woolford who works out of The Spire Hospital, Manchester. I did further research but kept coming back to Tim Woolford who by then I knew was a specialist in ENT and this gave me added confidence in his abilities. I rang Claire his secretary lots of times before I plucked up the courage to go to see him. Claire was brilliant and couldn't have been more understanding and patient with me. I saw Mr Woolford several times before I decided to go ahead and have the operation. I found him very easy to talk to and was very impressed and reassured by his natural modesty and calm and caring manner. Apart from my zig-zag nose I had a bump on the bridge which I wanted removing at the same time. He took great care to explain the procedure he felt would be most suitable for me. He said he only did natural looking noses and he didn't try to pressure me into having the operation. He assured me that most people don't have any pain after the surgery which to be honest I couldn't quite believe after having the very painful NHS operation. But I can truthfully say after my surgery I had no pain at all. Rather than take the credit for this Mr Woolford put it down to the skill of his anaesthetist. I am so happy with my new nose, I wish I had had it done sooner and I have already recommended Mr Woolford to two people. Yes, it is expensive but Mr Woolford, Claire, the staff and the food at the Spire made it worth every penny.
After a lifetime of intense insecurity about my nose, an accident that made the appearance of it worse prompted me to pursue surgery when i was 16. This wasn't the success i wanted it to be and it needed further work to fix it internally as well as the outer appearance. My nose went off to one side and there was an obvious hump in it with ridges from where my skin rested on the cartilage. Therefore last year, at the age of 22 I had my revision surgery. I'm now so happy with my new nose, it has made an indescribable difference to my life and how i feel about myself, to not have that insecurity hanging over me. I don't have the anxiety of how it looks in pictures anymore, or have to angle myself to avoid people seeing my side profile. I actively now love my nose. It's a scary decision, particularly when the last surgery was such a disappointment, but I'm so happy i can say that now.
Hi all, I shall tell you my experience with Mr T Woolford the ENT specialist who did my nose job. I went to Mr Woolford after he was highly recommended to me by a couple of acquaintances who had rhinoplasty done by him. But I also did my own independent research to make sure I went to a proper ENT Board Qualified (in the UK specialist register) surgeon in the UK, as there are plenty of people out there doing nose jobs who are not specialist register ENT surgeons and who might give one a pretty looking nose but what good would that be if one cannot breath through it afterwards. I simply wanted the best. I found out that Mr Woolford is a Professor of ENT at a top University Hospital in Manchester with plenty of research publications to his name so he is by all accounts up to date with recent ENT and rhinoplasty developments; this is the sort of professional that I was looking to find to opĂ©rate on my nose. As I also have difficulty breathing through my nose so I wanted to make sure the rhinoplasty would not make that worse. Mr Woolford recommended a septorrhinoplasty for me; something only a proper ENT surgeon with aesthetic training/experience could do well IMHO. I am now two weeks post op. My breathing through the nose is improving all the time and the swelling is already mĂnimal. The bump at the bridge of the nose has almost gone. Mr Woolford says that as the swelling goes down the nose will look straight and natural and it is already going that way at this early stage since the operation.
All went smoothly, hardly any pain after surgery and I could still breathe fine. There was hardly any blood either. Surgery went so well and do pleased with results. I went for the best and i got the best in terms of results and happiness. brilliant surgeon highly recommended. Really puts time in.
My surgery was booked months in advance. I visited many surgeons and as soon as I hd my initial consultation with Mr Tim Woolford, I knew that I wanted him only otherwise I would not have had the procedure. Mr Woolford is an expert in his field and of course is a ENT Specialist. I told him that I wanted a natural nose which does not look artificial or amended, and Mr Woolford always maintained that he would only operate If I had a realistic aim and if I wanted a natural nose. The whole process has been flawless and amazing, Mr Woolford also does all his own post op check ups and if you have any questions, he Is accessible. Highly recommend
Didn’t change tip as he said he would. I think he does a good job of rhino from the side but frontal he isn’t as good as some others I’ve seen on here. Went back to him two years later (to ensure fully recovered and not swollen) as nose droops now more than ever and he didn’t upturn the tip as id asked, he told me I “just had thick skin” and wouldn’t perform a revision on me. It’s sad because it’s so hard to find someone online that you trust and as he is so accredited I felt comfortable but alas it’s now six years later and I’m still upset with it.
Unprofessional behaviour I went to see Mr Woolford in Manchester Spire hospital, because I have a visible crooked nose. I chose to see him because I live nearby and because I read in his reviews that he has a conservative approach and does not over promise anything, and I just want a normal looking nose. I had tried to see some of his previous work via his secretary but she said you can only see them if you book an appointment, which I did. At the appointment we discussed my condition and my main question was if it is really worth it if I undergo the surgery, and he said because the fault in the shape of the nose is easily noticeable it would be a reasonable thing to do. But he said my nose will never be completely straight and tried to lower my expectations. He said it is impossible for nose not to change shape after the operation and expecting the perfect nose is far from reality. I had read the same reviews on crooked noses and accepted his point. He then took some pictures of me and I asked to see some of his previous work. Now because of an accident that I had when I was a kid I have some problems with the shape of my lips and I have been thinking for years to do something about it. After he showed me some photos of previous patients, thinking being an easy operation that he can do, I asked him if he could do anything about my lips too. He looked at them and said if you want to do something about your lips you should not have a rhinoplasty! Seeing the shock on my face, he explained: If you are that facially aware you will never be happy with the results of a surgery, and you should think about this more! He then stretched his hand towards me for a handshake, and well it simply meant goodbye! I am not going to write here how I have been feeling since. I just want to say that he sees that I am obviously not confident with how I look for apparent reasons; he might have thought there might not be a better way dealing with such person rather than attack their personality and ask them to leave. I might not be a surgeon but why should it be hard to think that I may believe structure of a nose is different from lips and you may not be able to give me a perfect straight nose but results on lips can be different? Why should you allow yourself to judge my personality in fraction of a second and kick me out of the room? Now is this because he thinks this is the best way to deal with a patient or is it because there have been many patients complaining about the results of their operations that he can’t deal with it no more and just wants to get rid of you as soon as possible? On a separate note: he gave me a leaflet to read at the beginning of our appointment. I noticed it was full of grammatical errors and typos (see the attached picture). Let’s assume that he’s not written the text himself, maybe he’s copied it from somewhere or he’s had his 5 year old to type it for him; and let’s forget the fact that English is his first language and he’s been to university and became a doctor. I just think the fact that he could not be bothered to carefully read a 2 page document that he hands out to people, brings an absolute disgrace to the University of Manchester that has given this person title of a “professor”.
Mr Woolford is a massively overrated surgeon who believes his own hype. He doesn't believe he can make a mistake, which he did during my primary, so therefore won't fix any. His secretary can also be very rude. They are both sweetness and light till they have your money. The only other review I believe in here is the one with pictures, the others sound like what he is good at - PR. I'm not posting pictures so you will have to make up your own mind about me too!
Well what can I say. I thought as he was ENT that he was a safe bet and that he would put my hanging columella right. Yes he did, but made my nose look ugly. I was left with what he said was a subtle indented scar, it was horrendous! I had a white lump inside my nostril which hurt all the time and I had sharp cartilage edges you could see and feel through the skin. His approach was "well your nose was very difficult and you have thin skin" After countless emails, follow ups and letters of complaint to Spire I ended up having just over half my money back. I am so glad now he refused to revise. In my opinion he made my nose look a lot worse than It was before. Enter lucian Ion. I had a 3rd Rhinoplasty with him 8 days ago. The man is a genius!! He has completely re shaped my nose! Even though I have swelling, it looks amazing! . I will do a separate review with photos in a few weeks when the swelling has gone down. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions
