I have finally gotten my husband on board and scheduled my breast augmentation . I wouldn't normally share this type of review but this website has helped me out tremendously. And I hope my journey can help someone else. My surgery is scheduled with Dr. Grosso in Montana. Surgery date is Feb 9. I am so excited but also very nervous. I have never had any kind of surgery before. I am going back in on Monday the 18th to try on more sizes. I'm thinking of 350 -400 ccs and pretty sure I'm wanting moderate profile. Dr grosso reccomended I do above the muscle implants and it seems that a majority of my research showed people going under the muscle. So I was hesitant at first, but upon more research I think I'm confident in this area. Im a mom of three and breast fed all of them and because of that I have thin breast tissue. So I will be going with a more expensive implant (I can't remember what it is) . But if you have had over the muscle implants I'm very interested in seeing our results and hearing how well they have aged. I'll post more pictures after Monday. There are not very many choices for surgery centers in the Montana area. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband can't take a lot of time off of work so it made the most sense for us to do it locally. My consultation went great and the nurse I had was very friendly. They were patient with me and answered all of my questions. The building is extremely clean and I'm confident that I will be well taken care of during my procedure. Updated on 19 Jan 2021: I played around with some rice sizers today and honestly I think I'm leaning towards 400cc. I know it's not 100% accurate but they have to be close. I'll attach a couple picks of what it looks like with about 375cc of rice sizers. I think once I talk to the nurse again and see the differences in the office I'll be able to confirm. I have a friend who keeps telling me that 350 is HUGE and it makes me second guess going bigger. But when I see these testers in I feel like I could even go past 400. I just don't want to regret it either way. In my first consultation I tried in several high profile implants but I do think now I'm leaning towards moderate profile. I like the idea of having them be wide at the base on my torso. I really want to start ordering bra but I know that's stupid to do before. But what surgical bra are you all recommending ?? Updated on 20 Jan 2021: I went in for my second time to ask some more questions and try on sizes again. I guess my breast width is 10-11 centimeters so so my of the sizes I was imagining aren't really in my "realm of choices". I really wanted moderates but I would have had to stay below 300cc and I really have my heart set on bigger. So we tried in some High profiles , I have a picture of what I'd be happy with. But even this size is "too big" for my dimensions. The nurse said that the doctor will try What he can and there is a possibility they will fit , but also a possibility they won't so I'm feeling a little disappointed. :( but here I think I have 360 HP. Anyone else have any experience wanting to go bigger but not being able to? Updated on 24 Jan 2021: I went in for a second consult on Monday and tried on sizers. For some reason RealSelf isn't letting me upload pictures! Anyways I hope this works. I'm trying 360ish in these photos. Still have my heart set on this size but worried they won't be able to fit with my dimensions. Updated on 3 Feb 2021: I’m so nervous. But I wanted to update my before pictures. Updated on 4 Feb 2021: This site has been so helpful for my BA journey. I bought a couple shirts that I’m excited to wear, post surgery. And fighting hard not to purchase any bras. But it’s so hard. ???? I always appreciate when people also post the side by sides of them wearing clothes. Updated on 9 Feb 2021: I’m not sure if this is normal with over the muscle or not, but I feel incredible. I haven’t Taken anything stronger than Tylenol extra strength. I have been mobile all day, able to move around comfortable and do some light cleaning. have a follow up appointment tomorrow at 4. I just wasn’t expecting to feel this good! Hallelujah ! Couldn’t resist trying on a shirt today! So pleased. Updated on 10 Feb 2021: They look so good. Very hard. I’m in a little more pain today but the Tylenol is still adequate. But I love them. I’m 5’9” 125 pounds 385 cc in my left and 365 in my right Updated on 10 Feb 2021: I'll keep this short, but everything went so well! Dr. Grosso is amazing. I haven't used anything but Tylenol since I woke up for surgery. I've only peaked at them a couple of times but I already love them. Updated on 11 Feb 2021: I’m on day 3 of my surgery and I’m feeling great! I had no need to take any Tylenol today. I’m still a little shocked that I’m in no pain! Dr. Grosso is incredible. I had my first post op appointment yesterday, and they said everything looks great. I’m looking forward to them getting softer. They’re still pretty hard, but already softer to the touch today. I noticed they make a weird noise if I lift my arms up or if I press gently on my chest. It sounds almost crinkly. I hope that goes away. ???? Updated on 13 Feb 2021: I can’t wait to see how they heal and where they’ll land. Ran some errands with my husband yesterday and tried on a couple bras. I’m trying not to spend too much money right now bc I know I’ll want to invest in some underwrites. Maybe not though. They’re so perky and comfortable in sports brass I’m just obsessed! I’m still in shock at how comfortable I am. I’m pain free! Sleeping well. And able to do everything around the house . Updated on 16 Feb 2021: Everything’s still great. I don’t have much to update . They’re getting softer everyday. One of my incisions feels likes it’s a little hard on the edge, but I think it might be wear the doctor said he did a suture . My next appointment isn’t for a couple weeks. Everything’s raking nicely , I love the size and shape. I hope they don’t settle too differently. I can’t tell if I have any sweeping. If I had to say, I’d say no, but I’m not sure. ???? I don’t know if there is as much “settling” going on when you insert the implant over the muscle. Does anyone know ? I’m curious as to why to expect. People say the size and shape change a lot during the recovery period but they honestly look the same as they did on day 1. My only complaint is my nipples are really sensitive and hurt. It’s not unbearable but it’s not great . Haha I have been doing my own research trying to figure out what size I am , and it’s impossible. When I plug in my measurements on Victoria secret website it says I’m a 34 B. But i tried on a 32 D from target and it fits pretty well. You still can’t use the fitting rooms in our town bc of covid so I’m afraid to order anything online without knowing. So frustrating! All the how tos online for measuring yourself gives me different answers so I don’t know . ???? Updated on 2 Mar 2021: Everything is great! Had my 3 week post op appointment day and my incisions are healing nicely. I’m still in love. Trying to refrain from purchasing bras but it’s so hard. ???? I was fitted at VS and I’m a 32 D as of now. The doctor told me my size shouldn’t change too much, but the shape may change in the next few months. Anyways here they are in a new bra. ???? Updated on 22 Mar 2021: Still loving them. My scars look great. They softened up pretty dramatically these pat couple weeks.
Breast augmentation today over the muscle 310cc. Dr. Grosso from Billings plastic surgery. I haven’t looked at them without my bra not sure if I can an definitely sure I don’t want to even move them. Pretty painful but my meds are helping a lot and I am kind of a big pain baby. The entire staff of Dr. Grosso and himself were so fabulous. I was very nervous and they mad me feel so comfortable even though I may not have shown it. I will try to keep everyone posted as that is what helped me. I was so scared I almost backed out of but I’m pretty sure I will be very glad I didn’t when all is said and done. So ta ta for now everyone. Updated on 12 Sep 2018: I did not sleep well last night seen as how I had to sleep on my back or sides and I was to scared to sleep on sides. My pain was maintained with my pain meds. Showered after postoperative appt but It was uncomfortable and scary. Doctor said everything looked good and I will see him again in 3 weeks. I’ve posted pics one day after surgery still very swollen and dropping to do.
So pleased with my experience with Billings Plastic Surgery, Dr. Grosso, and the wonderful staff and nurses. I had a lift, augmentation, and lipo around the armpits. Dr. Grosso is very good at what he does, knowing what will look good as the end product. I would highly recommend Billings Plastic Surgery. I originally consulted with a doctor in Arizona and was so pleased with only being 2 hours away from home and my beautiful new breasts!
Dr Grosso is one AMAZING Dr! He is a kind & professional Dr who definitely has a passion for what he does. He is very friendly & makes you feel comfortable. Excellent about explaining & answering your questions. He points out the all pros & cons of the procedure, recovery & expected results. I would definitely return to Dr Grosso if I were to have any other procedures done. I highly recommend Dr Grosso to everyone! His staff is just amazing as he is. Go see him, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
I'm 32, 5'6, and closer to 130lbs. After not finding too many girls with very similar stats and implant size I figure I'll add my review. I have never had big boobs but lost most volume after I took up weight lifting after my 1st soon was born. I now have a 3 and 6 year old. I always said I'd like an augmentation but never thought I'd actually do it. I've been proud of my athletic build, but after seeing a friend's augmentation thought why not me? Just tired of not filling out clothes, especially sports tanks and sports bras. You can sculpt most of your body with weight lifting, but not your breasts. I did some research and only went to one consultation. I really like the doctor and after a month of going back and forth between absolutely not and definitely yes, I booked it and said life is too short! I'm not sure of my BWD, but I think it's pretty small 11ish? Not even 100% sure what before bra size was...34A I think. At the consultation my doctor suggested 275 - 325 cc's and I end up feeling really comfortable at 300 cc's...Natrelle style 20 (high profile). I wasn't too stressed about the surgery, mostly just worried about the right size. On the day of the surgery, this morning September 29th, the doctor mentioned the new Inspira implants . The surgery went really great. Arrived at the plastic surgery office at 7am, got changed and my IV in, talked to the doctor and the anesthesiologist, and back I went. I was waking up back in my room write about 9am. Had a few tears as I woke up, but otherwise woke up and felt good, not sick. Definitely pain in my chest, was more painful than I thought it would be although I didn't really know what to expect. Nurse got me a few doses of pain meds, I walked a little, and got my instructions. I did have to lay down for one dizzy spell, but that's common with anesthesia. Ended up getting 310cc Natrelle Inspira SRX, which is the smooth shell, responsive gel, ultra full profile. I was a little worried when I read "ultra full profile", but I trust the doctor and think they will look great in a few months. Resting right now and keeping up on pain meds for a day or two after I felt how bad it hurt right after the surgery. My husband is home with me today and tomorrow and will have the kids at daycare Thursday and Friday. I'm worried about next week, as my husband have to travel out of town Sunday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. The house will just have to be put together in a couple weeks after my boys take it over...eeeek! Updated on 30 Sep 2015: Slept good last night, glad I set my alarm to take meds. Get sore after 5-6 hours of taking Oxy. Valium seems to work well. Had my post op appointment and Dr said looking great. Got my first full look and love the size. He didn't think I could fit anything bigger anyway. PS: I never realized how hard it was to take boob selfish LOL Updated on 3 Oct 2015: Overall I think my recovery had been good. I haven't had too much pain, but definitely moments of hurt. I really want to get off oxy, but when I only have Tylenol I end up feeling crappy. Nurse made a comment about Vallium helping with muscle tightness, so I've been taking 2 a day even though they don't seem to make the pain better. Thinking they will help with doing. It's funny how doctors have such different "rules". No icing, he says blood flow will help recovery better. No massage to make sure pocket is good. I have a compression bra to wear 24/7 for 4 weeks and then daytime for 4 more weeks. Not super comfy, but hope it gets great results! Don't think incisions look too pretty, but too early to tell. I love the size, but I'm worried how they will change add they D&F. Is it common to lose size or will they appear bigger as they settle? Don't have greed, but hoping they don't shrink too much. Also, how soon did you get back into the bedroom?? I think if I just lay there and hubby doesn't mind compression bra I'll need good to go! Updated on 5 Oct 2015: Yep, had to put my phone down and everything I typed disappeared :( First day back to work if good. I have a desk job so nothing too crazy. My husband left for business yesterday and won't be back til Wednesday night :( My 3 and 6 year old have been good helpers so far but I forsee pizza and cereal for dinner each night haha! Pain is good. Planning to stay off Oxy. Took 2 Tylenol this morning and probably take 4 more by bedtime. Still doing Vallium to help with tightness. My main complaint is the compression bra that I have to wear for 7 more weeks. I can live with covering it up, but just not comfortable! Here are a couple picts from yesterday. Updated on 10 Oct 2015: I'm 11 days postop and feeling pretty good, but mentally hard to take it easy. I've only been taking Tylenol about once a day, no real pain, but some sore areas. Mostly sore on my sides, area under my armpit/side boob. I've been trying to stay with orders to not lift over 5lbs for 2 weeks but definitely have a couple times. I really want my pockets to heal correctly, but I'm going crazy today not cleaning/organizing the house!! I've been good wearing my provided compression bra 24/7. Feels good taking off for shower but after that I'm usually ready for it again...like the support. I did buy some simple v-neck tees at Target that fit great and show off the girls just enough. I love my size so far! Jessy what I wanted to feel sexy and full out clothes better, but most people probably won't notice a big change unless they are looking. Updated on 20 Oct 2015: Just had my 3 week checkup today and all is well! Dr said I'm looking great and to expect some more dropping in the next month. My left is still sore/uncomfortable a little bit, but Dr thought that it was normal soreness. I have to wear my postop compression bra for 5 more weeks, but can start sleeping without it in 1 more week. No massages or anything special to do. Just keep trying to use both arms 50/50. Still no weight lifting or running, but he said light legs was ok. Might start some treadmill walking and bodyweight leg exercises soon. Before surgery I exercised at 4am Mon-Fri, so this break has been good mentally and the extra hour of sleep has been great. It's going to be painful getting up so early again, but I just love the feeling once that workout is done! I'm really looking forward to my next checkup at the end of November! I should be cleared to wear a normal bra ???????? I've never bought a bra at Victoria Secret and can't wait to find something cute! I don't see much change in my pictures, but here are some from this weekend and today. Updated on 20 Oct 2015: Quick comparison began preop, 5 days postop, and 21 days postop. I'm really happy my Dr recommended the high profile! They give me nice size without huge volume. Updated on 27 Oct 2015: 1 month postop! I've been feeling better and better each week! I never had too bad of pain, but 2 weeks ago was having a constant sensitivity on my left side. That is mostly gone now, nipple is much less sensitive, and haven't had any sharp stabbing pains for 1-2 weeks. I told my husband they looked like they were bigger last night, so guess you could say they are fluffing :) They are still dropping some and are a little softer, but hope they soften up much more...want some jiggle :) My incisions are falling right above my fold which looks like the perfect place to me. I hope they don't fall too much farther down so that underwires don't bother them. I can now go braless at night, which I thought I'd be excited for, but I'm positive I'd rather have the extra support. I might find a comfy night bra to at least change out of my postop compression bra that I have to wear during the day for another 4 weeks. Best money I've spent! Updated on 27 Oct 2015: 5 Days vs 28 Days postop...my advice is to take pictures each week. It really helps show you the complete transformation! Updated on 21 Nov 2015: I'll be 8 weeks on Tuesday and my next checkup is the week after Thanksgiving. I couldn't help but get a fitting now that I'll be cleared to wear something besides my postop compression bra! I went to a local lingerie shop and was fitted to 32D. At Victoria Secret I was 32DD and 32DD depending on the style. Of course my favorite one didn't come in a DDD. I didn't buy anything yet. I'm hoping to catch some good deals online for Black Friday and Cyber Monday! I only got 310cc, but the high profile really upped my cup size. Updated on 3 Dec 2015: I had my 2 month checkup on Monday and finally got the all clear! He thought everything looked great and I can now wear what I want and workout however I want! I had to wear a postop compression bra for 8 weeks and I'm so thrilled to wear a bra...but I ordered them all online on black friday so here I wait. They should be delivered today!!! I'm trying 2 VS sports bras...fingers crossed one of them works out. The 32DD in the style I liked was too small and they don't make 32DDD in it so trying 34DDD. I'll try to post pictures of the ones that work out. I'm getting back into my regular workouts, starting with light weight. Everything feels great except when the chest muscles are really used...that just feels odd. Triceps today were really light because they activate so much of the chest!
I had my first child at barely eighteen . my small breasts then became saggy and I've always been self concious. I have curvy hips and a smaller waist and I wanted to feel proportionate. Also, I'm a nurse and in scrubs I feel like a twelve year old boy. I want to wear sexy bras and ditch my Mom boobs for supple happy ones ! Updated on 25 May 2015: Before I decided on Dr. Grosso I did research on PS in my area. I had another nurse friend who had breast augmentation with Dr. Grosso and she was very happy with her experience and results. I could not find any negative reviews personally or online and the few before and after pictures of his patient s were satisfactory. The fact that he has years of experience surgically including his military service and that he does cleft palate repairs in third world countries made me feel confident that he would be an ethical practitioner. The initial consultation was very helpful and his nurse was very pleasant and professional and made me feel at ease. Taking pictures was very uncomfortable for me but that is a confidence issue of my own. I decided initially on silicone Allergan 280 cc left breast and 260cc on right. The silicone feels much more natural. I was told he prefers to do implants under the muscle due to decreased risk of capsular contracture though recovery is a little more extensive . My own research led me to the same conclusion. After getting home and using rice sizers I decided I wanted to go up in size to 300 cc to right and more on left to compensate for asymmetry. I communicated this to the office. On the day of surgery Dr. Grosso went over details. He had multiple sizers that he said they would use, see what looked best before placing implant during surgery. I would say the worst part of my life experience at the office was the pre-op waiting time and a scattered nurse who started my IV and struggled with the office software. She was very nice but not very reassuring as far as her competency. However the nurse that took me into surgery was clearly competent as were all the other nurses I dealt with. Post operatively Dr. Grosso explained they went with a 300 cc HP on right and 350 cc HP on left which surprised him a little. It definitely was a good choice because my breasts are very symmetrical. I will post more later about the " after I got home " but will include pictures before, during surgery and 10 days later.. Updated on 26 May 2015: My PS and I felt it would be good for me to take the week off after surgery to minimize me overdoing it due to I am a nurse. I work in an office setting so once returned to work he just wanted me to be careful. 1st week post op nolifting anything over five pounds , lifting arms above head, use arms bilaterally. I had alot of breast soreness that was really only minimized with Valium. The percocet was not very helpful and caused a lot of constipation and so I stopped it after about 3 days except for at bedtime. My husband helped me get shirts on etc and I slept a lot the first week, just very sore and tired. I was really worried I was going to pull something trying to sit up in bed and such because it felt that way. I learned to use my abs and try not to lay flat at all during day. I can't sleep propped IP though and at night I would wake up at 2-3 AM and need to take a Valium. I'm two + weeks out and doing much better. Now just a lot of feeling of stretching of my pecs and " zingers". My nipples bother meore than anything. Anyone else feel that ? Updated on 26 May 2015: Softening and dropping very slightly. Sometimes I put the genie bra on as a slight break from post op bra which I still have to wear 24/7. Updated on 29 May 2015: Having little to no pain, less " zingers". Scars are very minimal already at three weeks. He did a beautiful job with suturing. Breasts firm but dropping some. Am still very happy about my decision. Looking forward to getting to buy pretty bras. Still wearing post op support bra day and night. Updated on 4 Jun 2015: No pain at all. No more " zingers". Not dropping much but have the go ahead to start skipping bra at night , so will be first night tonight no bra! Yay! Updated on 26 Jun 2015: Finally went and got fitted at a local lingerie retailer . I bought a Felina bra and was shocked I fitted at 32DDD! Some bras were 32DD and fit well also. Feeling more comfortable in my new figure, very happy still I did this. My husband is happy too ;) My breasts are softening and feeling more natural. Feeling a lot better since getting back to working out again. Losing the bloat and toning back up! Updated on 26 Jun 2015: One nipple is higher and pointed forward 350cc implant and other nipple is facing more down 300 cc implant . Normal?? See picture Updated on 28 Aug 2015: 4 months out. I love my breasts. My confidence in clothing ( and without) is so much better! I wear a 32 DDD or 34 DD and I have to buy my bras at a boutique place in town because its hard to find bras " off the rack" so that is an investment to consider but worth it to me. Updated on 28 Aug 2015:
I had breast reconstruction after having a masectomy in 2012. I consulted with Dr. Grosso twice before deciding on latissmus dorsi flap reconstruction. Dr. Grosso was very helpful reviewing my options with me, and discussing the best procedure for my lifestyle and body type. I felt comfortable with my procedure, and am glad to no longer have to wear a prosethetic each day to feel "normal" in clothing. The procedure is invasive, and not without risks, but I felt confident with Dr. Grosso and the care I received from St. Vincent's hospital in Billlings.
Terrible experience! I went back for several appointments as I have been unhappy from the start. My stomach looks worse than before the surgery! Dr. Grosso told me I needed to lose a bit of weight, AFTER my surgery to make me look more normal. Unfortunately my breast surgery isn’t great either. I believe my implants have slid past the original pocket. He did offer to fix, but only after going back consistently for 2 years to express my concerns. On top of that, I was going to get charged more money. I think I would have been ok to have paid some, if he really felt like I needed to... but he completely missed the mark on my surgeries. I’m so sad and frustrated. I feel I paid a pretty penny to get hacked on.
I was skinny before the kids. After the 1st child, I had a lot of skin leftover and it build up as I had more kids. I am 135 pounds, 5"2, and ready for my body back. My motivation of losing weight lacks, I am tired of looking at my lose, saggy skin. I decided this after my separation from my husband of 12 years. We are trying to reconcile and work on our relationship, and I just want to get my life back in feeling good about myself again. I still get asked if I am pregnant because of the lose skin. I wear span everyday, to hide all the loose skin but with no success. So, the procedure is a week from today. I am having a tummy tuck and liposuction to the flank areas. I am ready and looking forward it! Updated on 3 Aug 2015: My procedure went well, and I have been resting all day. I started my surgery about 8 am, and was out of surgery at 11:45. I woke up in a lot of pain, and the nurse filled my i v with morphine and 2 tabs of Percocet. It gave me relief and I was comfortable. I rested for a while and Was discharged about 1:30. I have had great care at home, and am resting well. I get nauseous when I get up to go to the bathroom, but took some z ofran for it to feel better. I have a postoperative appointment tomorrow, and very glad I did this.
A hernia is a weakness in the muscles, and can even be a hole in the muscles. The bulge of a hernia is caused by tissue behind the hernia pushing forward through the hole or weakness, into the layers below the skin. A hernia repair can be performed with or without mesh, depending on the circumstances. It is possible to have a recurrence, but other causes of bulges are also possible. It is not possible to know what the cause of your bulge is from a single picture and without the benefit of a physical exam. Your surgeon will know the details of how your procedure was performed. These procedures are not all performed the same way - it depends on your body, the specific location and extent of your hernia, the condition of your muscles, the goals of the procedure, and many other factors. A follow up with your plastic surgeon is the best way to facilitate continuity of care, evaluate what appears to be a new bulge, and address your concerns.
The picture of your belly button shows that it is dark. You have indicated that you are 1 week postop from a tummy tuck, and you are concerned about the postoperative appearance. It is possible that your belly button is not healing as well as the skin around it. This is because during an abdominoplasty, the skin around the belly button is commonly disconnected from the belly button, and the belly button has to survive on it's own blood supply, until the new belly button/skin interface matures. During this process, the color of the belly button may change, perhaps even several times. Congestion of the blood supply, scabbing of the skin, slough of the skin, the healing of the skin, blister formation, infection, and other causes are all reasons that the color of the belly button may change. It is not possible to know from a single picture and without the benefit of a physical exam. A follow up with your surgeon is the best way to facilitate continuity of care and address your concerns.
