Dr. Roy Kim, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon in San Francisco’s Union Square known for his warm and approachable bedside manner and meticulous, natural results, especially when performing breast enhancement surgery and mommy makeover plastic surgery. “My only priority is to make you, my patient, happy!” says Dr. Kim. After receiving his degree from Georgetown, Dr. Kim graduated with his MD from the University of Pittsburgh. He was 32 when he started his plastic surgery career — one of the United States’ youngest surgeons to do so at the time — and has proudly dedicated his life to the field of aesthetics. Dr. Kim has been in private practice for over 23 years. He is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
My experience with Dr. Kim was very amazing! When I went in for my multiple breast augmentation consultations, I felt really comfortable with him. Before I even told him what I wanted my breasts to look like, he pulled up a 3D image on the screen and it was exactly how I imagined myself looking. It was like he read my mind! Obviously very talented to look at someone and know what would fit them the best. They even worked with my scheduling, the only time I was available to do it was two weeks after my initial consultation and they were able to get me in in two weeks and make it all work smoothly. I'm loving my results and I would go back to him for anything that I need done.
I went to Dr. Kim for a painful buffalo hump on the back of my neck that was growing in size and causing a lot of pressure behind my head. I was referred to Dr. Kim by my pain management doctor for further evaluation. From start to finish, I could tell this was a very caring team of providers and nurses. All of my questions were answered prior to the surgery with my options and step by step what was to take place. The day of my surgery, nerves of course took over. I requested a very early surgery slot due to the fact that I live in the East Bay so it was a 6am. arrival. They were happy to accommodate. The pre-op nurse greeted me with much friendliness and was very thorough with her health questions for me so not to miss anything. Although, I did forget to bring my inhaler being asthmatic. Not to worry, they had asthma medications there also if needed. I spoke with the anesthesiologist prior to the surgery and he assured me that he would keep me comfortable. In a blink of an eye, I woke up pretty quickly a little too fast and started shaking. The super nice nurses held my hand as they gave me meds to help the shaking and asthma medication as it was hard to breathe. I had a bit of a rough recovery going home as I was nauseated and vomiting on the way home. All normal reactions post surgery. Dr. Kim checked on me twice after the surgery due to the side effects I was experiencing post-surgery as well as the anesthesiologist. The compassion and care was well received at Dr. Kim's office. I would definitely go back to him for any other surgical needs that he could provide to me. I am very happy with the results I received. I feel a lot less pressure on my neck even though I am still very swollen. As the swelling goes down, I expect to feel much better and less pain in my neck area. Thank you, Dr. Kim and staff for taking such good care of me. Highly recommend.
Did a lip filler with Dr. Roy Kim, I love the result :) I am very satisfied! He knows what he is doing. On top of that he is friendly, he will answer any questions you have and explain to you clearly. Definitely recommend!
Dr. Kim did my mommy makeover. It included a breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and bbl. This was a super complicated and painful surgery. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions, which was a lot. He let me have as many appointments pre op as I wanted and let me try on different size implants at least 5 times because I was extremely picky! Him and his staff made me feel very comfortable and safe the day of surgery. Post op I saw him the day after, and then 2 every 2 weeks for a while and he then after that 1 time per month, and he always answered questions through text or phone call regarding literally ANYTHING. He also did a scar revision for me this week, free of charge for my tummy tuck and it looks even more amazing than it did before. I get compliments literally EVERY day about my body and how natural it looks, as I am in the adult entertainment business and I make money off of how I look. I had twins in July 2021 and this July nobody could believe it and also didn't even know that I had surgery at all! If you'd like to see more results pics you can check out my Insta @ kayytizzle_
I enjoyed working with Dr. Kim and his assistant Natali. They are friendly and warm. Dr. Kim’s prices are somewhere in the middle for a San Francisco plastic surgeon, but he is experienced and will do right by you. He made my dreams become reality. I’m very happy with how Dr. Kim and Natali have treated me.
I'm exactly 8 weeks PO after getting my BA from Dr. Kim & all I can say is, I am so glad that I picked the right surgeon for my surgery. Dr. Kim & his staff Pari, had been very very hands on since day 1 & even up until now that it's been almost 2 months in my healing process. This was my first surgery I've ever done & I was quite a bit nervous (and also excited) but Dr.Kim made me feel very safe & secured about the procedure. He's very diligent in providing the information that I need to know in order to pick the best choice of implant for my body size. At first I was juggling around between almost 4 different sizers & Im so glad that Dr. Kim had been so patient with me & even allowed me to come back again to try different sizers. This surgery was a huge deal for me & I'm so happy that I never felt pressured or rushed to pick what breast implant size I want. When it comes to his opinion, he was very honest with me about the implant that would look best for me based on my description of my dream implants. I don't know if it's magic or if he's just such an expert because my implants look amazing & fit me perfectly. He also answered all my questions from the very beginning about the risk factors and other possible complications that may occur with the procedure. Lastly, the topmost likable thing about Dr. Kim is that, patient care is also a top priority! I still get follow-up appointments for him to check my healing process & even then, he was very easy to get in touch with all my concerns after surgery. He even responds during off his office hours to answer all my questions regarding post-op care. Overall, I am very happy with Dr. Kim as my surgeon, very trustworthy & I would highly recommend!
He made me feel relaxed, he was funny, not uptight. I like how he listened to me and didn’t give me unrealistic expectations above all he wasn’t trying to seek me anything, I will see him soon again for fillers and other things!
After having to cancel a previously scheduled operation with a different surgeon because I no longer felt comfortable with them, I was SO happy to find Dr. Kim. I was really worried about trusting another surgeon but I knew I could trust him right off the bat and was instantly impressed with his skills and results. His office is very responsive and helpful throughout the process. He goes above and beyond to limit scarring and make the overall recovery process quick and painless. I was up and feeling normal again by the 3rd day which was way sooner than I expected. The follow up since my procedure has been amazing. Dr. Kim is always available for questions and works very hard to make sure his patients are recovering well for months after surgery. I would recommend everyone to meet with Dr. Kim as he made the serious decision to get plastic surgery extremely easy!
In 2010, I had a saline implant that went flat, so I needed to quickly find a plastic surgeon I could trust. Thank goodness I found Dr. Roy Kim. I had consulted with several other surgeons, but Dr. Kim is one of those people who you meet and just instantly like, and I knew right away that he was my best choice. He ended up replacing my old saline implants with silicone gel and I’ve been so happy ever since! Since my surgery, I’ve also been going to him for injectibles and he is absolutely fantastic. I could go on and on, but in my experience, if you go to Dr. Kim, he will treat you with respect, take his time with you, and exercises professionalism, skill and knowledge with whatever procedure you decide to do. He truly is a very talented and amazing surgeon, and I can’t recommend him enough.
I was thrilled with my upper eye bleph! I’m 3 weeks out and look amazing. The incisions healed beautifully with no signs of having surgery. I look younger, brighter and feel so good about myself. Dr. Kim was amazing from consultation through to post surgery and has a wonderful patient care coordinator who takes care of the many extraneous details for him flawlessly. He is a perfectionist, spends a lot of time with you answering questions, and does phenomenal work.
Hello, I wanted to share with you an option that could help you achieve the look you're interested in. You might consider a treatment called Kybella, which can be used to target and reduce excess fat under the chin. This can help create a more defined jawline and a sleeker neck profile. Additionally, you could complement this with fillers strategically placed to enhance and further accentuate your features. This combination can lead to a more dramatic and sculpted look. Of course, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional in person if you are interested in pursuing surgery. They can discuss the best approach to help you achieve the results you're aiming for. If you have any questions or would like more information on our offices, feel free to let me know. I'm here to support you in any way I can. Warm regards, Dr. Roy Kim's Office SF, Alameda & Beverly Hills
A deep plane facelift is a surgical procedure that addresses sagging and drooping in the mid- to lower-face by repositioning the deeper layers of tissue, including the muscles and ligaments, rather than just the skin. The specific ligaments that are released during a deep plane facelift will vary depending on the patient's individual needs and the surgeon's technique. In most patients, it's important to release the ligaments AND to do it so that the final result is symmetric. In virtually all cases, it's important to release the ligaments, but HOW MUCH is the artistry involved in a facelift. The anatomy is always the same, but each patient is different. The main ligament that is typically released during a deep plane facelift is the platysma ligament, which runs down the neck and helps to support the lower face. Other ligaments that may be released include the zygomatic ligament, which supports the cheekbones, and the mandibular ligament, which supports the jawline. Releasing the necessary ligaments is crucial for achieving the desired results in deep plane facelift. Not releasing all the necessary ligaments can result in poor outcomes like asymmetry, unnatural or unnatural look, or not enough improvement. Regarding the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system), in a deep plane facelift, the SMAS is lifted and repositioned rather than excised or folded. The SMAS is a layer of tissue that sits beneath the skin and fat, and it helps to support the face and create a more youthful appearance. The SMAS can be lifted and folded/ plication, or lifted and a small portion removed/ SMASectomy. It is important to note that every surgeon has their own technique, and some may do things differently. If you have any concerns or questions about your surgery, it is best to discuss them with your surgeon. They will be able to explain the specific technique they used and address any concerns you may have about your results.
In some cases, a revision surgery may be recommended to correct lack of cleavage definition. This could involve repositioning the implants, creating a new pocket for the implant, fat grafting to the cleave areas, or using a tissue expander or acellular dermal matrix to help support the tissue between the breasts. However, it's important to consult with the surgeon who performed your original surgery, as they will be best equipped to evaluate your individual case and recommend the most appropriate course of treatment. It is also important to note that revision surgeries are complex and may not result in the desired outcome. Also, healing takes longer and there is a risk of complications. It is important to weigh the pros and cons with your surgeon before deciding to undergo a revision. Best wishes to you on your aesthetic journey!
There are a few non-invasive options for creating a more defined jawline. Botox can be used to weaken the masseter muscle, thus making it smaller and creating a more defined jawline. Kybella can melt the fat directly under the jawline to help define the underlying mandible. Another option is ultrasound therapy, which can help to reduce muscle mass in the masseter muscles. One option is dermal fillers, which can be used to add volume to the chin and cheekbones, creating a more defined jawline. Best of luck on your beauty journey!
Great question! The best way to determine whether or not you need a tummy tuck is to bend over and see if there is any loose hanging skin. It seems from your last photo that you'd be a good candidate for a tummy tuck in conjunction with 360 liposuction. This joint procedure will address both any excess dat around your abdomen, flanks and lower back, while also getting rid of any loose skin and tightening your stomach muscles for an overall flatter and more contoured stomach. Of course, I recommend speaking to a surgeon in person to determine the best procedure route for you! Best of luck!
